ORICO Storage Backuper Design

This hard drive housing unit has a fairly simple and practical design. The housing is completely transparent, allowing you to see the unit that is installed inside. In addition, a small handle has been arranged that we can put that facilitates transport.

Something very interesting about this external housing is that for installation and opening it does not require screws. The lid slides on a specific rail without major problems. Plus, the storage drive is easily installed without the need for screws. Everything is a process that takes a few seconds and is quite simple.

ORICO Storage Backuper Features

The ORICO Storage Backuper External Enclosure allows 2.5-inch drives to be installed seamlessly. What's more, we can change the storage unit as many times as we need. We must bear in mind that it only supports 2.5-inch drives and a maximum of 2TB.

This unit has a USB Type C connector for data transfer or for power. The USB Type A port is intended to connect this unit to devices such as smartphones, tablets and other devices. For use in smartphones, tablets and the like, we must bear in mind that we must power the device. In this case, the power supply would be through USB Type C and the data cable, between the housing and the device, we should use USB Type A.

It has been created so that we can back up data in a very comfortable and fast way. To get the most out of this drive, the use of SSD drives is recommended. This is because SSDs are on the order of up to 10 times faster than a conventional HDD.

Conclusion

The truth is that testing this world exclusive ORICO Storage Backuper drive has been very interesting. We have been working with this company for a long time and they offer very good quality and low cost products. This is a final version, but not commercial at the moment, since the commercial units will arrive in December. We have tested it under all environments and the truth is that it offers excellent performance.

We really liked that the case is completely tool-free, allowing you to change the storage unit wherever and whenever. Although it has a limited capacity of 2TB, as we can easily install any storage unit, its capacity is practically infinite. It works excellently for making backups from a smartphone, it connects to SmartTV without problems and the data transfer speed with the SSD unit that we have put in is very good.

The truth is that this ORICO Storage Backuper drive has a downside and it is the LED status indicator. This one, despite being very small, has a very strong shine and looks a lot. It would have been better to put a resistor before to reduce the intensity or opt for an LED diode that was of low brightness.
