NOX Hummer X 700W - Review

One of the most important components of our system is the power supply. We can find different solutions on the market, but in this case we will talk about the NOX Hummer X 700W. This power supply is characterized by having a semi-modular design with flat cables, which makes it less occupying and easier to manage. In addition, this power supply is 80Plus Bronze certified.

Unboxing NOX Hummer X 700W

The front of the case for this PSU shows a large 'X' in purple. In front of this we see the name of the model and the brand, as well as the power that it offers at the bottom right. Also, it has been put in the lower left corner that this PSU is 80Plus Bronze certified.

If we flip it over, this power supply gives us some additional technical data. Perhaps the most interesting thing about this part is to see the currents and the power under each of the voltages. This is always important to know the maximum load in each of the voltages.

Inside the box we will find the NOX Hummer X 700W power supply. This has a semi-modular design, so some of the wiring is independent. We will find it inside the box in a bunch. This will allow us to use the ones we need, apart from those that are already integrated into the power supply.
NOX Hummer X 700W Design

An interesting aspect of a modular power supply is to use the secondary cables that we need. The ATX (motherboard) and EPS (processor) connectors will always be necessary, so to adjust the price down, these cables are already integrated into the power supply.

As we said, the NOX Hummer X 700W integrates EPS and ATX cables. But an interesting aspect of the cables is that they are flat. This allows for much more efficient cable management. A very interesting detail for this power supply.
Features NOX Hummer X 700W

This power supply is 80Plus Bronze certified. What this certificate tells us is that the power supply at a load of 20% (with respect to the total power) will offer an efficiency of 85%. Under 50% load it will deliver 88% efficiency and under 100% load it will deliver 85% efficiency.

We have a sticker on the power supply that indicates the voltages, current and power under each of the voltages. We must bear in mind that the power supply in total can supply up to 700W. That means that we should never squeeze the 12V rail as much as possible or we could damage the power supply. In addition, we must remember that power supplies offer the best performance under a load of 50% of the total power.

Unfortunately this PSU lacks 0dB fan technology. This 120mm fan will run steadily based on the internal temperature. The higher the temperature of this power supply increases, the faster the fan will spin to dissipate heat. It will be difficult for the fan to operate at its maximum, unless the load is the maximum supported by the power supply.

This NOX Hummer X 700W power supply is semi-modular in design to improve cable management. It has two cables with a 6 + 2-pin PCIe connector, so we can connect a graphics card, at most. Also included are modular cables for a total of 7 SATA power and other cables for a total of 3 Molex.

Conclusion
The NOX Hummer X 700W power supply is an interesting option for those who are going to mount a mid-range setup with consumptions between 300W and 400W. Under these consumptions the power supply will offer us good energy efficiency. In addition, the detail of the flat cables that offers better capacity for management, is something quite interesting.
Although this power supply is fine, it has a significant limitation in terms of graphics support. It only supports graphics that have a maximum of two 8 + 8-pin PCIe connectors. Nor does it support multiple graphics card configurations, although this is not a major problem, because this type of configuration is increasingly rare.
