XPG SPECTRIX D50 16GB @ 3600MHz - Review
We have been able to test the XPG SPECTRIX D50 White 16GB @ 3600MHz memory kit, which are characterized by offering a high quality heatsink
The frequency of RAM memories has gained prominence with the arrival of AMD Ryzen processors. XPG knows this and that is why it has developed the SPECTRIX D50 modules in white. Specifically, we have received the 16GB (2x8GB) kit at a frequency of 3600MHz. In addition, these modules come with an improved heatsink to efficiently dissipate heat and with RGB lighting.
Thanks to XPG for giving us these RAM memories

Unboxing XPG SPECTRIX D50 16GB @ 3600MHz
As always we start with the front case of these XPG DDR4 memories. We see that the box is black, highlighting the RAM memory module on the front, in this case we have received the white kit. It is a kit of 2 modules of 8GB each that add up to a total of 16GB working at a frequency of 3600MHz. It is also indicated to be compatible with RGB software from the four major motherboard manufacturers.
The back part is that it does not have truly relevant data. The memory format and the name of the modules are indicated. There is a QR code to scan that refers to the product warranty. Then we have data from the manufacturer, which is ADATA. Remember that XPG is the gaming division of ADATA. And little else to highlight at this point. Indicate that the installation guide and other information are printed inside the box.
Inside the box we only find the XPG SPECTRIX D50 modules in white. There is nothing else inside it. Indicate that these memories arrive in a plastic blister. We return to the usual theme and it is the amount of plastic used in the packaging of the products. We must find a solution to avoid using so much of this harmful material.

The first thing that immediately catches the eye about these modules is their white color. It's not the most common SPECTRIX D50 RAM kit , but it's undeniably elegant. We can see that they feature a translucent section for ARGB lighting. This translucent area is quite durable and provides excellent light diffusion.
Regarding ARGB, it is compatible with MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock and ASUS software. Additionally, XPG makes its own software available to users for their management. Each of the modules have 5 addressable RGB LEDs that we can configure independently.
Features XPG SPECTRIX D50 16GB @ 3600MHz
Something very interesting about these RAM memories is the integrated heatsink. Leaving aside the RGB, this heatsink is made of high-quality, thick aluminum. Each of the aluminum plates is 1.95mm thick to ensure efficient cooling of the heat from the chips. A point that has caught our attention, since normally the passive dissipators of the memories are usually finer.
Stand out in regard to these aluminum sheets is the rough finish they have. If we run our fingers over the heatsink we will notice it. This appears to be more from used paint than from the aluminum heatsink itself. One of the best dissipation systems we've seen.
These XPG SPECTRIX D50 White 16GB have a Single Rank configuration (1Rx8). This means that if we remove the heatsinks we would find memory chips only on one side. A few chips, on the other hand, made by Micron. Note that these modules are CL18-20-20-42.
About Micron memory chips indicate that they are E-Die type under the 19nm manufacturing process. These chips are considered very good for gaming and quite good for overclocking.

Conclusion
This XPG Spectrix D50 White 16GB (2x8GB) @ 3600MHz RAM kit not only offers good performance, but also boasts a very elegant design . It's a kit aimed at users who want to build an all-white gaming PC.
What we liked the most about these memories is not the frequency, the RGB or the latencies, which for a frequency of 3600MHz are quite good. These memories stand out for the heatsink. Not because it's white, but because it's 1.95mm thick. Although it seems negative, being made of aluminum, the heat transfer is fast and very efficient.
Complementing these elegant memories we have soft ARGB lighting. It is not a strident lighting, something that is appreciated, it is very dim but with very good colors. In addition, being able to manage it with the software of our motherboard is a great advantage.
We must point out that finding this white RAM memory kit can be complicated
- Fully compatible with Intel and AMD processors
- High quality heatsink designed to offer excellent performance
- Smooth ARGB that we can manage through the software of our motherboard
- Make use of Micron memories in a Single Rank configuration
- The latencies are very good considering they are 3600MHz modules
- The heatsink is 40mm high so it shouldn't be a problem with the processor heatsink
- Supports XMP profiles
- Nothing to highlight
