Review: Razer DiamondBack Gaming Mouse

Razer is a brand known above all for its excellent products, offering above all quality. It started out as a purely peripheral company, but in recent years, in addition to peripherals, it has developed laptops and other innovative solutions, such as Project Valerie, the world's first laptop with three 4K screens running simultaneously, and Project Ariana, a projector that allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the game. The latest news has been zGold and zSilver, two new cryptocurrencies. Today we bring you the complete analysis of the Razer DiamondBack mouse, a high-performance gaming mouse.

The Razer DiamondBack is a high-performance gaming mouse, born at the end of 2004 at the World Cyber Games, which has been very successful among video game fans. After that first delivery, this mouse had two updates, with two new versions, the first in 2005, with a 1.600DPI sensor and the second in 2007, with a 1.800DPI sensor. The latest version of September 2015 offers us a 16.000DPI sensor.

A very interesting solution for video game fans, which is both elegant and simple at the same time. This mouse offers us a solution not only for right-handers, but also for left-handers, a group little considered when it comes to developing peripherals. Razer has wanted the DiamondBack to be an interesting solution for both right-handed and left-handed users.

Regarding the development of this mouse we must say that Razer has not only wanted it to be an interesting solution for right- and left-handed users, it is also a solution for users who have different types of grip and also different types of hand. Depending on the position of the palm, either by using the claw-shaped grip or with the fingertips, this mouse offers great comfort, especially designed to spend a lot of hours playing with it.

Said mouse has textured rubber supports on the side areas, which offers us greater control when we move quickly. This special grip prevents accidental slipping or slipping at times when the game load is very advanced. Without a doubt, it is a very interesting solution from Razer, which does not detract from comfort at all.

Razer DiamondBack features RGB LED lighting, something increasingly typical in the industry. The mouse has 16.8 million colors, which can be static or we can choose two colors in a gradual breathing mode (it can also be a single color). It has two quite typical modes, such as the spectrum cycle, which makes the mouse go through all the colors gradually and the wave mode, which makes the mouse go through the entire color spectrum in its different illuminated areas. This mouse has a special mode, which illuminates the mouse with a certain color, each time we press a key.

Razer has arranged for this mouse to have an extremely powerful sensor, since for this mouse the 5G laser sensor has been used that reaches up to 16.000DPI, which indicates that we can choose through software at the speed we want it to work. The mouse supports up to 210 keystrokes and a maximum acceleration of 50g, with a 1000Hz refresh rate.

Through Razer Synapse, we can control the RGB lighting of our mouse in a simple way, in addition to programming the nine buttons that this mouse has thanks to Hyperesponse that Razer adds to its products. Thanks to Synapse, this mouse can be synchronized in color with other devices, such as the most advanced Razer keyboards or the FireFly mousepad, which also has RGB LED lighting.

The Razer DiamondBack mouse is powered by braided fiber cable, which is 2.1 meters long that ends in a USB connector. The mouse has a length of 125mm, a width of 60mm and a height of 30mm and this mouse has an approximate weight of 89 grams. For Razer Synapse, essential for the proper functioning of the mouse, we need Windows 7/8/10 and Mac OS X, with a free space on the hard drive of 100MB.
