Razer Viper - Review

We start with the box of this Razer Viper mouse, which, of course, is nothing to write home about. It comes with a box with a dark gray almost black tone where the mouse stands out. It is also highlighted that it is a mouse designed for right- and left-handed people, which has optical switches and a 5G sensor from the company for greater precision.

If we turn the box we will see another image of the mouse and in this several notable points stand out. We have on the one hand that this mouse has 8 buttons programmable to taste. Razer's own optical switches have been introduced for the right and left button which have a response time of 0.2 milliseconds. The Razer 5G sensor and the special Speedflex cable also stand out.

The mouse comes in a box that protects it from shocks and is also covered in protective plastic. Both elements ensure that the mouse does not suffer damage and that it does not scratch either. Inside we find a small manual, the thank you card for buying the product and a pack of stickers.

Talking about Razer means talking about elegant, high-quality and sober finishes. Austerity is something of the brand, until RGB is turned on, of course. This mouse is a clear reflection of it. To such an extent that in this image the brand's logo appears even though we cannot see it at first glance. And it is that in the part where the palm of the hand is placed the logo of the brand is screen printed, but it is not seen until the RGB is turned on.

We are talking about a high-end gaming mouse with all the elements that we could demand. The right part has a textured rubber side to prevent our finger from slipping. It has two buttons at this point that we can program according to our needs. Being a mouse for both right-handed and left-handed people, it is designed to be used with the thumb.

The left side of the Razer Viper is completely the same as the right. As we have highlighted, this mouse is for left- and right-handed users, so both sides are completely symmetrical. These two buttons can also be programmed to taste, as can the two on the opposite side.

We go to the front, which does not have any type of button. Here we only find the scroll, which has a textured rubber cover. As in most modern scrolls, this one has a click function, something that has become essential, inside and outside of gaming.

Something unusual is the color of the USB connector, which is green like the color of the brand. Usually they are usually black or blue if they are USB 3.0, but in this case it is a green USB 2.0. In addition, it comes with an easy-to-remove plastic cover to prevent it from filling with garbage when we transport it.

One of the rather curious aspects of this mouse is that it has Speedflex technology. A special cable has been developed that allows smoother movements. This cable is much more flexible than normal and offers very low resistance to movement. In addition, we see how this cable has a mesh that protects the cable itself, in addition to offering a very elegant finish.

We can see at the bottom that this mouse has the Razer 5G sensor in the center of it. Below this it is indicated that this has a support for up to 16.000 DPI. Additionally, we see on the front and back of this mouse the PTFE pads that offer an extremely smooth glide. We also see a pad that surrounds the sensor that is designed to protect it and prevent dust, hair and other elements from getting inside.

Between the sensor and the rear pad we find the button to adjust. It has been integrated into the chassis of this mouse and when we press it, the DPI will change. Between this button and the sensor we find a tiny 'DPI Stage' indicator that tells us what DPI profile we have. The lighting will change according to the chosen profile.

In addition to reaching up to 16.000 DPI, this mouse supports speeds of up to 450 inches per second with accelerations of 50G and a refresh rate of 1000Hz.

This mouse has on the front the two main buttons and the scroll. The two main buttons make use of a high-quality Razer-developed optical switch. It is based on a beam of infrared light that opens when the key is pressed with a response of 0.2ms. These switches give us up to 70 million clicks, which is much more than the traditional 50 million clicks of other mice based on OMRON switches.
