Review: Tacens Imperator W chassis

We analyze the Tacens Imperator W chassis, a chassis with a brushed metal front and a complete methacrylate window, among other interesting features, which make it the ideal solution for those on tight budgets.

When we buy a new complete equipment, we have to take into account many things, including the chassis where we will place our equipment. A chassis is not just a container for our hardware, it is a fundamental element, where to place our equipment, have everything well organized and must allow a good flow of air, to improve the cooling of the system itself. Tacens has been in the market for many years, with practical and interesting solutions, which offer an excellent price and simple finishes as well as elegant. The new Tacens Imperator W continues with the classic line, but adapting to the new times with an acrylic window.

Tacens has always manufactured products with an aesthetic, above all, simple and minimalist, but providing functionality and adapting to the needs of all customers. The Imperator W is an example of this, offering internal space for ATX and micro-ATX motherboards in a mid-tower chassis size, with dimensions of 423x194x429mm. Regarding the materials used in this chassis, the whole of it is made with 0.45mm SPCC, with the exception of the window made of acrylic and the front, which is made of brushed aluminum, which gives it a touch of elegance.

Internally this Tacens Imperator W is divided into two segments, isolating the area of the power supply with respect to the compartment where the motherboard and the rest of the hardware go, reducing the temperature of this critical section, where the processor and the Graphic card. Regarding these, this tower supports heatsinks with a maximum height of 160mm and graphics cards with a maximum length of 347mm. There is enough space to install large components without major problems.

This Tacens Imperator W chassis supports five hard drives. Two 2.5 ”SSD units can be installed in the area of the motherboard perched on the tray where the motherboard itself is held. The power supply area, in turn, allows the installation of a 2.5 ”SSD together with two 3.5” HDD units. Additionally, Tacens wanted to offer the possibility of installing a front panel or a 5.25 ”optical drive, for those users who need it. This tower also has seven expansion slots for PCI components.

Regarding the rest of the characteristics of this interesting Tacens Imperator W chassis, say that it has a space for guiding and hiding the cables and has dust filters. Regarding the I / O ports, we must mention that this chassis has a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0, which seems somewhat short, since the ideal would be double, but even so, it covers the minimums and offers HD sound, via a microphone jack and another audio output jack. A 120mm fan has been arranged in the rear area, the Tacens Fluxus, specifically, which offers good pressure and good air flow.

What Tacens offers us with this Tacens Imperator W is a complete and good quality chassis, efficient in terms of cooling and with the two separate zones, as well as a large methacrylate window, with a very reasonable price, something that has always characterized brand products. They have a bad opinion because they do not have great prices, which are usually synonymous with quality, but this chassis meets all the quality requirements that are demanded of a tower today with more than enough and can house practically any component for gaming without major problems. An efficient solution, for those on a tight budget.
