Review: Corsair H115i RGB Platinum liquid cooling

We analyzed the Corsair H115i RGB Platinum liquid cooling kit, an All-in-One kit compatible with most current processors.

Processor cooling is one of the fundamental aspects when it comes to obtaining the best performance from it. One of the many options for cooling a processor is liquid cooling. Corsair knows quite a bit about this and has developed the Corsair H115i RGB Platinum All-in-One liquid cooling. This is characterized by having a 280mm radiator and includes fans and pump with RGB lighting. This model would replace the previous H115i PRO system.

Corsair H115i RGB Platinum Key Features

  • Compatibility:
    • Intel: LGA 115x / 1366/2011 (-3) / 2066

Corsair H115i RGB Platinum Packaging and Accessories

As would be usual in the boxes of the company's products, it comes in black with yellow trim. On the front we find an image of this cooling and on the other sides sometimes different data and characteristics of liquid cooling.

Inside the box we find a thick cardboard that protects this system to prevent it from being damaged. In addition to protecting the cooling, it also serves to protect the system. We also find a user manual and a warranty card.

In a separate bag we find the backplate mounting kit for systems with Intel processors and the frontplate system for AMD. The frontplate for Intel processors is already mounted as standard. Additionally we find the hardware and the micro-USB cable that ends with a USB header for connection and synchronization with the Corsair iCUE software.

Corsair H115i RGB Platinum fans

We move on to the fans. This kit features two Corsair ML PRO RGB fans. The two fans are 140x140mm with a thickness of 25mm. The fans have a PWM management system that allows it to reach a maximum of 2000 RPM, being able to control them manually if we want.

These fans offer an airflow of 97CFM and a static pressure of 3.0mm / H2O. We see that these are special for static pressure and in this case we need pressure rather than flow. They have a maximum loudness of 37dBA. Not only do they include a 4-pin PWM connector, it includes another 4-pin connector for RGB LED lighting.

Corsair H115i RGB Platinum Radiator and Pump Assembly

The pre-assembled pump and radiator assembly is of conventional design and hardly changes from its predecessor model. Regarding the radiator, it has a dense system of aluminum fins with dimensions of 322x137x27mm. Basically we are talking about a classic design that has been developed to support two 1400mm fans.

We see that two rubber tubes start from the radiator, which are covered by a cover. These have been adjusted to ensure a great seal. If we look at the opposite extreme we find the bomb. The set has a modern design and somewhat more compact than other similar Corsair systems to which RGB LED lighting has been added to both the Corsair logo and its outline.

The processor's heat dissipation pump and block has a micro-USB connector for RGB on one side. Regarding the base of the pump, it has a copper base with the thermal paste already applied, speeding up the installation. For Intel LGA 2011/2066 or AMD sTR4 processors it may be a bit fair, but for Intel LGA 1151 and AMD AM4 it is more than enough.

Note that several cables start from the pump. The first is a three-pin motherboard connector and only one is used. One connector to the SATA type power supply. There are two for the 4-pin PWM type fans and another two for the RGB LED lighting of the fans.

Conclusion

This All-in-One Corsair H115i RGB Platinum liquid cooling system is an excellent solution for gaming fans. Above all, it is ideal for Intel Coffee Lake or Coffee Lake Refresh processors, or AMD Ryzen or Threadripper. In addition, this type of cooling is clearly indicated for users who want to apply stable overclocking 24/7.

Perhaps a major limitation of this kit is that it is 140mm and not all chassis on the market support it. Before buying it, we must know if our chassis offers support for this cooling kit. For the rest, it is a kit of great performance and features capable of dissipating the heat of any processor on the market.
