Corsair K83 Wireless - Review

We have received the Corsair K83 Wireless keyboard for review. This keyboard is characterized by being designed for entertainment, multimedia and gaming in the living room. To make it gaming this Corsair keyboard has implemented two mice. The first has a very large circular touchpad and two keys for the left and right button. The second is based on a joystick and two buttons on the back and bottom of the keyboard.

Corsair's bet with this K83 Wireless keyboard is a true pass and breaks with conventional Bluetooth keyboards. What's more, this keyboard allows you to connect in so many ways that it's hard to choose one. It has the ability to connect via Bluetooth to two devices, with a built-in Bluetooth adapter and via cable.

Corsair K83 Wireless Presentation

This keyboard arrives in a typical Corsair packaging with the product in front on a yellow background. The rear part gives us some data and the yellow color also stands out. The case is robust enough to protect the keyboard, a product that is somewhat delicate.

Inside we find the keyboard, of course, a user manual that in this case is interesting to read, a USB cable to charge or connect it and a Bluetooth adapter. The cable is also completely flat and with good protection.

Corsair K83 Wireless design

The Corsair keyboard has very interesting things that attract attention. The first thing that strikes us is that the keyboard is extremely flat and light. It is designed to be used on the sofa, so being light and compact are essential characteristics. But it is also that, considering its use at night, the keyboard has a very dim white LED backlight.

Another curious element is that it has two mice. The former is entirely in the right area and is based on a fairly large circular touchpad with illumination. Below we find the left button and the right button. Above we find a wheel that is used to raise and lower the volume.

On the touchpad we see a key that allows turning the LED lighting on and off. The key with the padlock 'F' activates the second of the mice designed for gaming on the sofa.

Regarding the second mouse, note that it has been designed to play comfortably in the living room. Scrolling is done using the joystick, which works very well. We have the left button in the back, with a sufficient size and in the back we have the right button. The right button is huge, so we can operate it without problems.

Note that we can connect the keyboard by cable to any computer that we want. This cable is also created specifically for charging the keyboard. So we have a lot of connection possibilities for this keyboard.

The keys of the Corsair K83 Wireless

I have been fortunate to give this Corsair K83 Wireless a lot of fire (you can see it in the images) and it has surprised me. When we talk about compact keyboards, they are intended to be used in a specific way, but this keyboard is not. I have tested it for writing for a long time and the truth is that it works wonderfully.

It has slightly convex keys, something that is interesting and helps a correct keystroke. These keys have a softer and more comfortable pressing mechanism than in notebook computers. This keyboard is also extremely quiet.

I have tried it a bit in games, with the joystick and mouse buttons behind and below, and was surprised. This gaming keyboard is versatile and works great in all kinds of games. Above all, it seems to be designed for Google Stadia and GeForce Now, among other streaming gaming platforms.

Conclusion

It is possibly one of the most curious keyboards on the market. The Corsair K83 Wireless is not a multimedia keyboard and it is not a gaming keyboard, is a hybrid. The company has wanted to bring gaming to the sofa at home and does it in a very comfortable way. In addition, having a backlight allows us to use it even when it is dark in our living room.

The autonomy of this keyboard is excellent, since with lighting it offers us 18 hours and if we turn it off, it extends to 40 hours. The charge is very fast, in just two hours we have it fully charged. Also, when the battery indicator flashes red, it still gives us about 30 minutes of autonomy.

I have to emphasize that for multimedia it is perfect, for gaming on the couch it is very good, but for writing it is brutal. Also, being compact and light, I have been able to put it in my backpack with my laptop and take it everywhere.
