Sharkoon Drakonia II - Review

Not only have we been able to test the classic Sharkoon Drakonia, we have also been fortunate to receive the Sharkoon Drakonia II. This is an update of the classic model, adding certain elements that are appreciated. The first one is a new, higher quality optical sensor that allows reaching 15.000 DPI. In addition, this new mouse adds a more programmable button and RGB LED lighting at various points.

Thanks to Sharkoon for giving us this mouse

Sharkoon Drakonia II Unboxing

Sharkoon Drakonia II gaming mouse window box

This new mouse retains some elements of its predecessor model. The box is quite similar, with a lid that we can open and that allows us to see the mouse. Something very interesting, since we can also see the new design of this mouse with respect to the previous model. It also changes the internal face of the mouse, being able to see a soldier in armor and a dragon in the background. The previous model had the big dragon.

When we open the box and remove the elements inside, we see that little changes with respect to the previous model. We have the carry bag and the manual, as well as the interchangeable Teflon pads. It is basically the same as we had in the model before this Sharkoon Drakonia II.

Sharkoon Drakonia II Skin

The first thing that catches the attention of this mouse, like its predecessor, is the design that resembles the skin of a dragon. The former had a more fish-like design of scales. For the Sharkoon Drakonia II, what we could say is a large scale design that gives it a touch of aggressiveness. It has a dark green hue with a bluish touch.

It has been designed with all types of grip in mind, not only palm type, but also claw and point type. For any type of grip, this mouse offers very good comfort and performance.

The sides have rough rubber grips, to prevent it from escaping while we are playing. On the other hand, the upper area is smooth and bright and reveals the logo that is illuminated by software-manageable RGB LEDs. The scroll on the sides also has some RGB lighting.

The Sharkoon Drakonia II has dimensions of 127x83x42mm and a weight of 134 grams. Like the first Drakonia, this one offers an adjustable weight, which allows it to better adapt to the needs of each user.

Features Sharkoon Drakonia II

For this new model, the design has been greatly improved and it has been chosen, first, to expand the capacities. The mouse has capacity for six different profiles. The profiles allow you to adjust the DPI and the capabilities of each of the buttons located in the left area.

Sharkoon Drakonia II offers us a total of 12 programmable buttons to suit our needs. So with these twelve buttons and six profiles, we have a lot of possibilities. Two of these buttons are programmed for 'back' and 'forward' functions.

All the switches on this mouse are OMRON with a life of 10 million keystrokes, something that guarantees us great durability.

The Sharkoon Drakonia II also has four Teflon pads, which can be exchanged for the others that the mouse incorporates. Underneath we also find a lid that hides five weights of 5.6 grams each.

We also have the sensor, specifically the PixArt PWM 3360 that supports up to 15.000DPI. The sensor has a sampling of 250 IPS and an acceleration of 50G. This sensor also has a polling rate of 1000Hz and a lifting distance of 2mm. It comes with a 600 / 2.400 / 4.800 / 7.200 / 10.000 / 15.000 DPI setting, which is customizable through software.

Conclusion

Without a doubt we can say that it is a sensational evolution with respect to the original Drakonia. It offers much higher quality than the previous model and a much wider DPI range. The Sharkoon Drakonia II is an excellent mouse for fans of MMO / RPG games, with large number of programmable buttons.

The original model was already a very interesting option for a reasonable price and this is too. We could even say that at the quality / price level this is much better, since it offers superior features. In addition, Sharkoon offers its own software to configure and customize both the buttons and the RGB.

  • Very interesting design
  • Adjustable weight
  • 12 programmable buttons
  • Ideal for MMO / RPG
  • OMRON switches
  • Sensor up to 15.000 DPI
  • Side buttons a bit hard
