Razer Ornata V2 Unboxing
The case of this keyboard respects the usual Razer color scheme, based on black for the main part with a green outline. We have a large image of this keyboard on the front. It stands out that it has RGB lighting and that it makes use of membrane switches. A solution that combines the feel of mechanical switches and the height of membrane switches.
At the rear, even more emphasis is placed on membrane-type switches. Note that these are a Razer development specifically for its keyboards. It is a very interesting bet on the part of Razer for this keyboard, which in addition to offering good touch, greatly reduces loudness.
Inside the box we find the Razer Ornata V2 keyboard and the wrist rest. Also included is a sticker kit, a note from the brand creator and a small manual. There is not much else inside the box of this keyboard.
Razer Ornata V2 Design
The first point that stands out about this keyboard is the size of the keycaps. They are roughly half of the traditional keycaps for mechanical switches. Also note the robustness of this keyboard, since despite being made of plastic, it has an excellent consistency.
One of the points in which this Razer Ornata V2 keyboard stands out is in the multimedia control. More and more keyboards integrate these functions into the function keys ('F') of the keyboard. Here we can see that the pause / play, backward and forward are integrated independently. Raising and lowering the volume is done using a wheel that greatly simplifies raising or lowering the volume.
A conventional cable that terminates in the typical USB Type-A connector has been included for this keyboard. The cable features a rope coating that improves the aesthetics and durability of the cable. Additionally, the cable can be managed underneath the cable itself. Rails have been arranged so that we can remove the cable from the sides or the center, as we need.
Features Razer Ornata V2
Mechamembrane switches developed by Razer itself have been provided for this keyboard. These switches are really conventional membrane solutions, but with the inclusion of a metal piece to make the characteristic sound of mechanical switches. These switches offer us a travel slightly less than 1mm, being ideal for gaming. In addition, it has an N-Key Rollover design, or what is the same, if we press all the keys at once the keyboard will recognize them.
Another strong point of this keyboard is the really comfortable foam wrist rest. The comfort that it can offer us and the perfect fit is surprising. Also, it does not need to be screwed or anything, it is magnetic fastening. This allows you to put it on and take it off with great simplicity.
Finally, note that this keyboard integrates RGB lighting controlled by software. The keyboard lighting is independent for each of the different keys. We can see very light colors with a soft shine, without fanfare, something that can be annoying.
Razer Ornata V2 Software
Within the Razer Synapse software we have all the management possibilities that this keyboard offers us. We can manage the keyboard lighting, choosing between the effects, creating custom effects and adjusting the brightness. Even at 100% brightness, the lighting is vivid for no excess. Then we can activate the game mode that disables certain keyboard shortcuts to avoid annoyances

Conclusion
The Razer Ornata V2 keyboard, a interesting solution with these hybrid switches. Actually the pulsation is similar to a membrane although the sound it emits is more of a mechanical one. In addition, the noise level is lower than that offered by a mechanical type keyboard.
One of the most interesting aspects is the wrist rest, really comfortable. The truth is that it is one of the smoothest and most adaptive that we have been able to test. Also, one of the interesting aspects is that it can be easily withdrawn. Its anchor is magnetic, something that makes it easy to put it on and take it off.
We find it a very interesting option for those who want to play and are looking for a silent keyboard. In addition, the travel is less than 1mm, so the action will be really fast.
