Gamer setup for less than € 650

Gamer configuration suitable for playing any game and capturing the games and streaming them.

We inaugurated the computer configurations section with a gamer team of less than € 650, which our Twitter follower, JekYT, asked us to do. He has asked us to still be a good team to play, but with an attractive box and that it works well for capturing games and streaming his games. We have collected the glove and created this configuration for him, which has a total price of € 648.56

Processor

We have chosen for this team the Intel i3 6300 processor based on the Skylake architecture. It may seem like a very simple processor, but it is a processor with two cores and four processing threads, which offers us excellent performance for this gamer team. This processor has a working frequency of 3.8GHz, but unfortunately it has no automatic Boost option, but on a tight budget you have to give up a certain amount of things. It has a TDP of 51W. It has integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 graphics, which are quite simple, but if one day we have problems with the graphics that we install, we can continue using this equipment. (PVP: 149.96 €)

cooler

Processor cooling is a very important aspect and for this we have chosen the BeQuiet! Shadow Rock 2. This large heatsink will offer us excellent cooling performance. Having the processor well dissipated, this guarantees a greater durability of the processor, as it is subjected to a lower temperature. It has a 120mm PWM fan. You could go for a more compact option, but we find this cooler to be an excellent option. (PVP: 45.96 €)

Motherboard

A simple and well-performing option is the Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H. We have chosen this motherboard because it offers us excellent features and for what we are going to install, we do not need much more. We will not overclock, therefore we do not need a motherboard with those characteristics. It has two slots for DDR4 RAM up to a maximum of 32GB. What refers to internal connectivity, it has a PCIe x16 port for the graphics card and two PCIe x1 ports (one of them will be covered by the graphics card), and finally four SATA III ports. The external connectivity is based on two PS / 2 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, HD audio output and an Ethernet port, and regarding the video outputs we have VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort. (PVP: 58.95 €)

Graphic card

The graphics power to play is essential in a gamer team, so the ideal option is the Gigabyte GTX 1050Ti Windforce OC 4GB GDDR4. We have opted for this graphics card because of the excellent performance of this graphics card compared to the others on the market and opting for one from an older family is not an option. NVIDIA not only offers powerful graphics cards, it also offers us GeForce Experience software, which offers us the Shadow Play utility that allows us to record our games or share them directly to Twitch, without the need to use independent capturers. (PVP: 165.95 €)

RAM

Logically, as the motherboard is DDR4 and the processor is also, we have opted for a Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4Gb 2133Mhz module. Two high-performance RAM memory modules and the most extended speed in these memories have been chosen. The big reason why we have chosen these memories is that they have a heatsink, which improves performance. There are cheaper options, without heatsink or that are a single 8GB module, but this option for us is the best (PVP: 58.95 €)

HDD

Whenever possible, it is best to install an SSD, as it allows us to improve performance significantly. The Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB is an ideal choice, as it offers us the excellent potential of a Kingston drive. It is not a HyperX, obviously, it is a simpler and cheaper solution, but with great performance. This unit offers us a read speed of 550MB / s and a write speed of 490MB / s, which is very good. We could have opted for a mechanical option, but we already know that mechanical hard drives lose a lot of performance. (PVP: 75.95 €)

Fuente de alimentación

Our equipment will not have consumption, but in these cases, it is always better to opt for a 500W option, specifically the Cougar VTX 80 Plus Bronze 500W. This power supply tells us, with the certification, that we will have an efficiency of at least 80%. One of the excellent features is that it has a high efficiency 120mm fan, which will work at speeds depending on the load and temperature. (PVP: 48.94 €)

Chassis

The user has asked us for a successful tower for his gamer team and we have opted for the White Talius Drakko. This tower, with a design quite similar to the NZXT Phantom, which offers us great cooling. It does not have fans as standard, but we can put them with blue lighting as we want. It supports all the selected hardware without problems and has great possibilities when it comes to installing components, since it supports up to six 3.5 ”or 2.5” hard drives, depending on our needs. The top panel has a USB 3.0 port and a USB 2.0 port and the typical audio inputs and outputs. (PVP: 37.95 €)

Bonuses

You asked us to make the tower stand out and we thought that since the tower does not have fans, we could install an additional fan. We have chosen the 120mm BitFenix Specter Blue LED. Installing this fan on the front so that it absorbs air is an excellent option and will give a touch of lighting to the equipment, making the interior stand out more through the window that the chosen chassis has. (PVP: 5.95 €)

  1. But man, how do you put an i3 and that chunk of heatsink when with the i5 6500 with the series heatsink you get a pc for the same price and with more performance?
Without overclock, the standard cooling of the i5 is adequate and should not give any problem

    1. I will go in parts. The i3 is a great processor for this team and with the GTX 1050Ti there will be no bottleneck, if it were a GTX 1060, an i5 would be interesting.
Regarding the heatsink. If you were not aware of it, the stock coolers are very bad, the difference is at least five degrees. Overclocking with this cooler is not a good idea, because we would have problems with overheating. Having the processor well cooled is very important to extend the life of the processor.
It is not all based on whether or not overclocking is done, you must know the reasons why you opt for one product or another. If we buy a computer for gaming and we don't install a decent cooler, it is quite a major failure.
It is all based on having a balance between all the components, which allows us to have excellent performance according to our budget. More does not mean that it is better, far from it.

      1. Well, I actually use an i5 with a stock heatsink and a GTX 1060 and it didn't give me any problems. In any case, and taking into account that it is a gamer configuration, you are cutting off its wings in terms of future expansions, because if later you want to improve the t. graphics must also buy a new mike to, as you say, avoid the bottleneck, while if part of an i5 that expense saves it. In the worst case, if you are bothered by the noise from the stock heatsink or are concerned about a couple or three degrees too much you can later buy a better heatsink for € 30.

        1. I don't think it's difficult to understand, but I will explain it again. I have not said that there is any problem with installing a series heatsink, but they are bad when it comes to dissipating heat, increasing 3-5ºC with respect to the heatsinks on the market that have a minimum quality.
Bottleneck: the bottleneck occurs when the processor saturates when working with games. The processor reaches a load of 90-100% and is given with entry-level processors with mid-range graphics, such as an i3 and install a GTX 1060/1070. What causes the bottleneck is excessive wear on the processor that will last much less than a slightly more powerful one and a somewhat less graphics.
GTX 1050Ti: it is an entry-level gamer graphics card, of course, the more sugar, the sweeter, but it is about LOOKING FOR THE BALANCE between the components.
What has been requested is a budget to play, record games and stream games, a team has not been requested for future expansions, what's more, I have a friend who bought an i7, with the motherboard, SSD and everything and He told me that the graphics would be taken in the future, which is normal and now he has bought the GTX 1070, a brown beast. It makes no sense to buy a gamer computer today and in six months improve the components, the logical thing would be to buy everything except the GPU, I save six months and buy a good graphic, but the user asked for the complete equipment to play now, not in six months .
I do not know if this person bought it assembled or he assembled it, but it seems silly to me to buy a computer today for gaming, not mount a good heatsink and mount the stock processor and in six months disassemble all the equipment to mount a heatsink 30-50 €, because it makes no logical sense, you mount everything now and you don't have to touch anything, because changing the heatsink means disconnecting all the cables, removing the graphics, the motherboard, removing the heatsink, cleaning the thermal paste of the heatsink, put the thermal paste, mount the new one and reassemble and wire everything. This is at least one hour of work (if you don't have much experience mounting and dismounting).
I invite you to mount an i650 and a GTX 5 with € 1060, with an SSD, with RAM with heatsink, a certified PSU, a tower that is good and an optimal motherboard, because it is IMPOSSIBLE.

I am not bothered by constructive criticism, but your comment is absurd and meaningless and you fester in a position that you do not defend, you say what you have, while you are given logical arguments as to why it has been chosen or thought for this configuration (and for all that we do), since we look for the best possible option, for a long durability with the budget that we are given.

          1. Let's review my absurd idea (by the way, I find this observation in bad taste, I am not writing an article, I have only made a comment and I think without disrespect):
Replace the i3 + heatsink with the i5 + series heatsink. The computer remains for the same price. You want me to stream and play simultaneously with an i3 and I want to do it with an i5. Is that the effort you are asking that i3 (being quite optimistic and considering that this will not affect game performance) will increase the temperature by itself. You have a very hot i3 that dissipates better and a less hot i5 that dissipates worse.
Leaving aside future expansions, and despite all the obvious string you can write, I continue without seeing the advantage, frankly.
