Guide to get started in Steemit, the social network that pays you with STEEM for publishing content
What would you tell me if I told you that you can earn cryptocurrencies just by creating posts on a social network? Surely the first thing that comes to your mind is that it is absurd and that I am crazy, but nothing is further from the truth, since there is a social network, where you can earn cryptocurrencies just by posting. This social network is Steemit and what we get in exchange for publishing content on it are Steem Dollars and Steem Power. There is a small drawback and that is that we receive the income from the votes of other users, so making attractive content is important for them to vote for us and get cryptocurrencies and here we will explain how it works.
Table of Contents
WHAT IS STEEMIT?
Steemit is a social network based on the STEEM blockchain, a cryptocurrency which is mined based on the social network and whose capital is distributed among users through Steem Dollars, a cryptocurrency based on the STEEM blockchain. What interests us is that the social network replaces the traditional blogs, portals to share stories and others, obtaining income in cryptocurrencies directly, according to the quality of our content. The better it is, the more we can get.
The content is free, you can publish anything, always within the aesthetic and legal margins. One of the most important differences with other social networks is that it is open, anyone can see your content and content in bad taste, for calling it in some way is penalized. Disgusting content can be adult content, quite frowned upon by the community and all users who upload this content usually have accounts with a lot of negative votes or flags.
HOW DO I ACCESS?
Well, anyone can register on Steemit, the idea is that the more people register, the better and content is generated. We just have to go to the web and enter the registration data. It is different from other sites, in which you register, but you have to wait a certain time to be admitted, since they directly send you the access password to the email after a few hours. I don't know of anyone who hasn't been admitted. The confirmation email with the password can take a couple of hours or a couple of days, depending on the volume of requests.
There is something that we must take into account and that is that under no circumstances can we choose the password, or enter a password, it is generated automatically and is extremely secure. The password must be saved like gold on a cloth, since if we lose it, there is no possibility of recovering the password, therefore it is recommended to save it in several places, even, I would say that it does not hurt to have it in physical mode that is, printed, in case the flies.
I'M ALREADY INSIDE, NOW WHAT?
Once the account is created, the ideal is to put a profile photo and fill in the description and other user data, before doing anything. Another interesting thing is to go around the different tags or hashtags that appear in the right area and see what content is moving, what is published in each space and so on. The largest communities are the English-speaking and the South Korean community, although the Spanish-speaking community (hashtag Spanish) is growing a lot and many initiatives are generated, which I will tell you about later.
START PUBLISHING
The first post is usually a presentation, a brief description of who you are and what you intend to upload to the social network. Elaborated texts are held in high regard, so do not cut words. If you want to generate a text enriched with images, links or with highlighted parts of the text, before publishing on the social network itself there are several guides and tutorials on how to introduce it. Most of the HTML commands are supported, so you can also search for commands in HTML format to enrich the text.
Below you will see a preview, where you can see how the text will look after being published. The title should be as attractive as possible, as anywhere. Regarding the tags, if you are going to write in Spanish, I recommend that the first one you see is 'Spanish' and then enter the ones you want. A maximum of five tags or hashtags are allowed, separated only with spaces, nothing else. For all those who present themselves, other recommended tags are 'steemit' and 'introduceyourself'
WHAT CONTENT TRIUMPS?
It is very difficult to say this content yes or this content not, the important thing is to work it out and everything will grow and you will see what content stands out. You can take it as if it were your personal blog, counting your things, you can tell your trips, things that interest you, tutorials or write stories, the limit is only you.
VOTES, WITH MODERATION
The social network has something that resembles karma and it is the voting power, which depends on the user level. If we are new and during the first days until we collect, our vote will be quite insignificant and as we go up in level, our vote will be worth more and more (careful, pennies, do not get confused). Something that we must take into account is the power of the vote, which we must always have between 90-100%, since that is when our vote is most relevant, if it falls below these values, it becomes less and less irrelevant, this is made to avoid picaresque and that people vote indiscriminately.
THE WHALES OR HEALERS
There are users on the net that are called 'whales' or 'curators', they are those who have been around for a long time and have a lot of Steem Power and who can choose how much money they give to each of the users. They move into another league and get large capital with very little. These have a lot of Steem Power, more than 500, which means that they obtain revenue from everything that is mined in Steemit every hour, which if I remember correctly, is 600-800 STEEM per hour (I do not remember it well, but there is a post which explain it better).
There are not many, but there are quite a few. Especially in the Hispanic community we have Cervantes, among others, who what they do is vote on different user posts, to empower the community and distribute part of the benefits they obtain for being so large, which is another of the 'obligations' of the whales share part of the profits. Cervantes has several more subaccounts such as Sancho Panza, Don Quijote, Simón Bolívar and others, who are voting on the post they consider to be of the highest quality (don't go begging, it's very ugly)
HISPANIC COMMUNITY CONTESTS
I recommend everyone to look for the different contests that are held in the Hispanic community, as they are a good place to make yourself known and get capital. These contests are open to all users and have certain rules and hashtags, so I recommend investigating which ones there are. SpanishChallenge and Cervantes organize the two most important competitions, but there are other smaller ones, which are gaining in popularity. The SpanishChallenge is in its eighteenth edition and started with very few participants, less than a dozen, but now many people participate and it has been divided between story and poetry.
HISPANIC COMMUNITY IN DISCORD
A small chat has been generated in Discord for all of us who interact with the hashtag 'Spanish', to share our content, chat about different things or ask questions. There you will find the general chat, to chat and specific channels where you can share your entries in a comfortable and simple way. I must tell you that in the general chat it is forbidden to post the entries that we generate on Steemit, there are already specific channels for this.
GET THE MONEY
What we are collecting is automatically distributed in Steem Dollars and Steem Power. The network allows an internal pool to change Steem Dollars directly to STEEM. The Steem Power cannot be changed and it is better not to touch it, but it is to increase it and less give it to Power Down, that is a bad idea, it is best to leave it and go up little by little.
Take it out, we can take it out easily, we just have to have a portfolio in any pool on the network and take it there. I recommend Bittrex, which is the one that works best, since Poloniex has the STEEM and Steem Dollar wallet deactivated every two to three and we can spend days until we have our money in Poloniex. I personally started using Bittrex for this reason. The transfer of capital can take minutes or an hour, it depends on the volume of operations in Bittrex, but the capital arrives and there we can exchange it for Bitcoin and these for the currency that we want.
CONCLUSION
Personally, I have been using it for almost two months and the truth is that it is very good and it is especially worth participating in the contests that are held to be seen and create content on a regular basis. Participating in the Discord community is also very interesting. Those of you who have a good level of English can choose to publish the entry in Spanish and English, to gain more visibility. I hope you are encouraged to enter and if you do, you can leave your profile in the forum thread that I have opened to create our own community within Steemit.

It is similar to Taringa, they pay you with bitcoin if you receive many visits and they give you points, it also has the Karma system
It's different, because here it is with Steem and you can win batante. The Karma here is the Steem Power and the vote percentage.
Hello, how are you? I think Steemt is great. Now my question: How do I start working after they give me my password? Do you have a tutorial that you can provide me so I know how to do it? I am 67 years old, Venezuelan, not very skilled on the PC, only with a pension from a retiree, I do sewing repairs and I "URGENTLY" need to earn money for my medications and support. In addition, I would like to help many people here who are in this situation.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
