Disable applications and delete WhatsApp files on our Android smartphone
Guide to proceed to disable applications and delete WhatsApp files, thus avoiding filling the memory of our Android smartphone with junk files.
Disabling applications and deleting WhatsApp files, it sounds like Chinese I know, because when you buy a new phone no one explains in a simple and clear way what care and maintenance you have to do to avoid having that famous 2-year expiration period.
Manufacturers acquire agreements with companies so that their products are included as standard as soon as we turn on our mobile, they are there so you can know their services simply by satisfying your humble curiosity about them, or by accidentally touching. There are also the so-called "native system" applications, they are applications that the software needs to function, although most of the time the only thing we use are social media or communication applications.
So how can we fix it? The most common mistake is to purchase an external memory card, but even so we will continue to have the same problem, since these cards are designed to store multimedia files (photos, videos and music) and not applications.
In the case of Android (Google's operating system), it gives us the facility to change the appearance of our menu, and makes this system a success, from Ice Cream Sandwich (name of the software version) the opportunity was given to user to decide which applications to hide, creating an internal mode called “disable”. In the image below we see an example.
We access Menu-> Settings-> Application administration; From this panel we will see a list of applications, classified by downloads, SD card, applications running and finally disabled or disabled. Once the updates are uninstalled, the option to disable will appear; By applying this configuration we will speed up the operation of our phone and prevent unwanted applications from consuming the resources of our internal memory. Advice if we do not know what purpose an application has, it is better not to touch, although at first glance it seems that they do nothing, they have very important functions for our phone.
Suggestion of Applications that can be disabled: Play Music, Play Newsstand, Play Books, Google +, One Drive, Galaxy Apps, LG World, Hangouts, Google Play Movies.
Disable applications and delete WhatsApp files
WhatsApp is not a native system application but it takes up a lot of space in the memory of our phone. WhatsApp keeps a copy of all the videos, images and audio files that we send, if we never review this, our memory will almost certainly be affected.
To solve the space problem we must go to Menu-> My files-> Internal storage-> WhatsApp-> Media (all the information received and sent is saved here); In the image below we see an example of the folder called Sent (files sent in English), all we have to do is select files and delete; We will notice immediately how our phone improves performance, being faster in secondary processes and when opening our gallery.
There are third-party applications that can help us manage residual file problems (remnants of applications that we no longer have installed but their installation files), although in general these applications have a lot of integrated advertising and according to the user it can be annoying.
About third-party apps to clean memory: the best one is SD Maid. Try it, and, if you want, recommend it. It is not very intrusive, and in the end it does its job.
Thank you very much for the recommendation, we will take it into account.
