Summary of what's new from NVIDIA for CES 2022

On the occasion of CES 2022 in Las Vegas, NVIDIA has made a virtual news presentation to show the world its technological advances. These range from new entry-level and high-end graphics cards, firsts in its creator suite, and advancements in autonomous driving for vehicles.

Geforce Now remains important to NVIDIA at CES 2022

Faced with a shortage of components, NVIDIA continues to view GeForce Now as a way to deliver high-quality graphics games. They already have more than 1.100 games in the entire catalog, 90 of them free to play. Every Thursday they will add new games. Samsung will incorporate Geforce Now into its Smart TVs starting in the second quarter of this year.

NVIDIA Studio Creator Suite Grows

The NVIDIA Studio suite is going to be updated to make it much more attractive to creative professionals. New features include an update to NVIDIA Canvas to produce 4x higher resolution images and use five additional elements.

Added to the NVIDIA Studio ecosystem is NVIDIA Omniverse. It is a collaborative platform for 3D design in real time and that connects all the applications of the NVIDIA Studio Suite and other 3D animation programs to avoid having to constantly change programs, added to the option that several users can work work together even remotely.

RTX 3050 for desktops

The NVIDIA RTX 3050 was so far only available for notebooks. Today they announced that they are releasing a desktop version of the entry-level 3000 series GPu, for $ 249 and available from January 27th. This ensures that anyone can play with RTX and DLSS technology at more than 60 frames per second, in games that a GTX 1650 cannot reach. Its VRam capacity for the desktop version is 8GB GDDR6, as opposed to 4GB for the notebook version.

It will have a total of 2560 cores, a frequency of 1.55 - 1.78 GHz, 8GB of GDDR6, a 128-bit bus and a consumption of 130 W. It is now available to reserve in official stores and retailers.

RTX 3090 Ti

NVIDIA's last graphics card announcement at CES 2022 was the Ti version of the RTX 3090. It will have 24GB of GDDR6X at 21Gbps speed. Its bus lane is 384-bits, which would give a potential speed of 1 TB / s. Apart from these data, NVIDIA has not said more about this model at CES 2022, except that sometime this month they will give more details.

NVIDIA in autonomous cars ends its CES 2022

The last part of NVIDIA's presentation at CES 2022, which received a total of 15 minutes, was dedicated to NVIDIA's technology in autonomous cars. Specifically, chipsets and environmental awareness are the ones that most demand the power of NVIDIA graphics chips.

For now, NVIDIA chipsets in self-driving cars allow for an L2 level of control, which provides assistance while driving but does not allow the driver to look away. At higher levels, it will even be possible to remove someone from the driver's seat to ensure the driving autonomy that is so promised. They have presented the uses that high-level autonomous driving has, such as the delivery of goods and the so-called "last mile delivery", which is the delivery of food or courier orders directly to a special location, known to be the step that involves the most organization and cost of delivery.

With the improvements in the speed of detection, they can ensure that in the near future, autonomous cars using this technology will be able to go on main and urban roads without the need for a driver, which will allow them to make night trips. Finally, they have developed a voice assistant connected to the internet that allows us to consult destinations, offer us suggestions and even reserve rooms in hotels and tables in restaurants, among other useful applications.
