There will be very low consumption versions of the Intel Core Meteor Lake

Intel will officially launch its new range of Intel Core Meteor Lake CPUs in December, a generation designed for ultralight laptops. They are designed for low consumption and efficiency, not performance. There is no word on which models will be released, nor core configurations or prices. They will debut a new nomenclature and it is not known how it will develop. Ahead of that Meteor Lake launch, Golden Pig Upgrade has revealed four new Meteor Lake models via Wccftech.

Intel will announce Core Ultra processors, which initially could be the high-performance models, but now they would represent all, and the Ultra would refer to the portable models. This to be confirmed. And the leak shows that there will be Core Ultra models even for the low-power 9W and 15W U-series chips for super-thin laptops.

Intel Core Ultra Meteor Lake models for super-thin laptops would have been leaked

The numbering of these Ultra Core models for very low consumption models could cause confusion, according to Extremetech. They claim that Intel appears to be following AMD's lead, where an additional cheat sheet is needed to translate each number in a CPU's name to understand its place in the hierarchy.

Various Intel Core and Intel Core Ultra logos.

Intel would use the Core Ultra designation regardless of its overall performance. In the leak, the 15W CPUs end with the number 5, while the 9W chips are designated with the number 4. Thus, the Core Ultra 7 164U is 9W, while the Core Ultra 7 155U is a of 15 W. What should clearly indicate the position of a CPU in a series, has become an enigma worthy of Professor Layton. At least on the desktop Core, you know better the position of the different i7 or i5 models.

If you want to know the different Core models from Intel, we have an extensive list on the web.

But these are just guesses. We always warn that leaks must be taken with care and only take the final information offered by Intel as the truth. Pora now those names have been leaked and It is speculated that they are very low consumption models, which would be totally in line with what Intel has promised for this generation of Intel Core Meteor Lake.
