Introduction

Fortnite with its 'cartoon' graphics and its different seasons quickly became a success. The trick is in the skins, which you must buy if you want them for a few euros (or your local currency). This microtransaction model has generated hundreds of millions of revenue for Epic Games, showing everyone that it was still better to launch a free game with microtransactions.

As always, the pitcher goes so much to the source that it ends up breaking. Electronic Arts saw the goose that laid the golden eggs and decided to combine adding microtransactions into a game based on one of the most important sagas in video game history: Star Wars Battlefront 2. The problem? If you wanted the skins, upgrades, weapons and more, you had to spend thousands of euros to have it, which caused the ire of users.

Platforms where to get free games for PC

There are more and more digital stores and they offer free PC games for users. Here we find different models, from temporarily giving away a game to offering a wide catalog of free games. Steam
