Hideo Kojima wants to retry making a horror game

Hideo Kojima does not want to stop playing games or stop terror. He also wants to test his first steps by making movies.

Now that Death Stranding is out, the new Kojima Productions is fully established and can make the games its director Hideo Kojima envisions. And it seems that he wants to try again to make a horror game after the spite that his Silent Hills project with Guillermo del Toro was canceled by Konami in 2015.

Kojima already has ideas behind Death Stranding

As he has commented in an interview, Hideo Kojima has multiple ideas in the gestation period that he could move forward, including some ideas for a horror game. Kojima doesn't want to stop making games, but he also has an interest in creating film projects not as long as a movie.

Regarding his horror game, he explained that he has some new ideas—we imagine new compared to what we saw in PT, his biggest " Kojima-esque " project—but he doesn't know when he'll actually do anything with these ideas for a horror game. It's possible they might not involve the team of Guillermo del Toro, Norman Reedus, or Junji Ito with whom he was going to make the canceled Silent Hills. He's interested in the horror genre because, according to him, " when it comes to movies... you can close your eyes and watch something really scary. Games are different from movies. If you close your eyes in a movie, you can make it disappear and the movie continues, but in games, it's interactive. You have to move forward yourself ."

But for now it's too early to speculate what kind of game Hideo Kojima will bring us next. But seeing the enormous success that Death Stranding is having, it would not be strange that many large production companies want to finance their next big project. It will very likely take us years to see it come to light because their games usually take a long time to develop due to the huge amount of details that they usually put.
