The last event of the Boston Dynamics company has allowed us to meet its latest creation, a robot that seems designed with a system similar to the Segway and that is capable of moving autonomously and even maintaining balance without the slightest problem. According to the founder of the company Marc Raibert himself, this incredible robot 'gives him nightmares'. It has its logic, since we are dealing with a completely autonomous robot, which remains in balance while going at high speeds and using two wheels in parallel.
To date, all the robots designed and developed by the company had been characterized by moving with two or four fully functional limbs that also allowed balance on rocky terrain or undergoing shocks. This development is not entirely innocent. The Boston Dynamics robots until now were limited in speed by their legs and despite balance, they could fall or be clumsy like people and animals. The new creation is a faster robot, with apparently improved stability and that could be weapons for military use.
