Razer Adds Razer Yellow Mechanical Keyboard Switches to Compete with Cherry MX Speed

Razer has developed the Razer Yellow Mechanical Keyboard, in order to compete with the Cherry MX Speed and Cherry MX Silent, in high-end gaming keyboards.

Cherry MX mechanical switches are the top rated in the keyboard industry, being used in a large number of keyboards. There are few alternatives, but this is due to the high quality of the Cherry MX and its wide variety of solutions, depending on the end use of the keyboard. Razer, meanwhile, does not use Cherry MX keys, they have decided to make their own mechanical keys, which are also of great quality. The last ones they have presented are the Razer Yellow Mechanical Keyboard.

These new yellow mechanical keys are quite similar to the Cherry MX Red. Razer wanted us to make new high-quality mechanical keys for their keyboards. These keys have a line actuation, but in addition, the actuation travel of these keys goes from 2mm to 1.2mm, allowing these mechanical switches to offer a shorter response time, making them an ideal solution for more action video games. where response time is critical.

These mechanical keys require an activation force of 45cN (45.89 grams). Razer claims that these new mechanical keys have a lower sound level, in this case having new generation mechanical switches that compete directly with the Cherry MX Silver / Speed mechanical keys and the Cherry MX Silent, which are the latest and most complete keys. mechanics developed by Cherry MX.

Currently the Razer Yellow mechanical switches are only available on the Blackwidow Chrome V2 keyboard (as we already commented in this news), but the company is planning to release more keyboards with these mechanical switches, although we don't know if they will be 100% new keyboards or a revision of the company's most popular keyboards already on the market.
