ASUS RoG G701VI, the gaming laptop for virtual reality

ASUS launches the ASUS RoG G701VI laptop designed for virtual reality.

Gamer laptops are increasingly in the running and brands are betting heavily on launching high-performance computers with laptop format. ASUS has just introduced a new 17.3 ”model designed for virtual reality, which has been called the ASUS RoG G701VI. This laptop is characterized by having a processor that allows overclocking and a 120Hz screen with NVIDIA G-Sync technology and an NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card.

This laptop will come in two versions. The ASUS RoG G701VI-XB72K and the ASUS RoG G701VI-XB78K are characterized by using the Intel Core i7 6820HK processor and a GTX 1080 graphics card. They differ in that the XB72K will have a maximum of 32GB of DDR4 RAM and a single hard disk drive. 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD, while the XB708K will have a maximum of 64GB of DDR4 RAM and two 512GB NVMe PCIe SSDs in RAID0 format.

ASUS has also said that the new G702VI is the first laptop on the market that will have a 120Hz screen and also have NVIDIA G-Sync technology, something that surely the rest of the brands in the market that develop gaming laptops will copy in a short time. The monitor has a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and is anti-glare, in addition to having G-Sync technology that improves the gaming experience to the maximum. Logically with a GTX 1080 we will hardly have a game at less than 60FPS.

Regarding connectivity, this laptop has a USB 3.1 Type-C compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and a common USB 3.1 Type-C, in addition to three USB 3.0 ports. What refers to video outputs for virtual reality glasses, we have HDMI port and mini DisplayPort. It can be purchased now on various websites, with a price of $ 3099 the ASUS RoG G701VI-XB72K and the ASUS RoG G3699VI-XB701K of $ 78.
