AMD Stops Producing AMD RX Vega 64 and Assembler AMD RX Vega 56 to Benefit Custom AIB Models

Production stoppage by AMD of the assembler models of the AMD RX Vega 64 and AMD RX Vega 56, to favor custom models from different manufacturers.

AMD is stopping the production and distribution of reference graphics cards, both the AMD RX Vega 64 and the AMD RX Vega 56. It seems that all German retailers have stopped receiving the assembler models of these graphics cards and already they will only receive customized models for each manufacturer. In other large stores such as Amazon or the North American Newegg they still do not show the customized versions of the RX Vega in stock and only the reference models can be found in both cases.

The arrival of the custom models should arrive shortly, occurring as custom models arrive by the different assemblers and the end of the reference model stock will mark the end of the same stock. Computer Database, who has given this information, affirms that several sources confirm that no more Vega reference will be sent and that customized models by different manufacturers will soon be available. ASUS, Gigabyte, Sapphire, PowerColor and XFX have already shown the custom models of these graphics cards and the first shipments are already being sent to retailers around the world.

Stopping the production of custom models can be a solution to the problems that the company has when supplying GPUs to the different assemblers. It is possible that when the market is full of custom models, they will resume their own production, as long as the GPU production is at an optimal level to supply all the demand. We must remember that AMD is already in development of Ryzen and Vega in 12nm, so there is also the possibility that we will not see any more reference models on the market.
