AMD was unaware of the 13 vulnerabilities of the AMD Ryzen, as CTS had not informed them

New York cybersecurity company has corroborated the 13 security vulnerabilities, while AMD has communicated that it did not know anything about the security problems of AMD Ryzen, since CTS had not informed them.

The bomb of the day has been the detection of the 13 vulnerabilities in the AMD Zen architecture, which is used for all AMD Ryzen processors. It has been the Israeli firm CTS Labs, which has detected these holes and has done so with only six workers. This has jumped a few hours ago and this is being a disastrous year in terms of computer security, since these detected vulnerabilities are added to those of Specter and Meltdown.

CTS executives have told Reuters that they have already reported these security holes to different clients that pay the firm to carry out proprietary investigations into vulnerabilities in computer hardware. CTS has flatly refused to disclose the names of the clients or how many clients had the data on the vulnerabilities.

It stands out from all this that last Friday and Monday shares were short sold in large quantities, something that has made Ihor Dusaniwsky, Head of Research at S3 Partners, suspect: 'In recent days there has been a rebound in sales in the short term it was completely outside the norm. 'This suggests that some shareholders of the company already knew about these vulnerabilities before it was published.

Logically this has caught AMD by surprise, since the company had not contacted them: 'CTS Labs was an unknown company for AMD and we find it unusual for a security company to publish its investigation to the press without providing a deadline. reasonable amount of time for us to investigate your findings'

Ryzenfall, Masterkey, Fallout and Chimera affect Ryzen, Threadripper and EPYC and the information provided by the Israeli company has been corroborated by Tail of Bits, a New York company specialized in cybersecurity and which has quite a bit of prestige, as they have explained to Reuters.

  1. For me, these vulnerabilities have credibility 0, I think it has been an easy way for a couple of companies to manipulate the market.

      1. I hadn't read about Tail of Bits, I'll check who they are. I was referring to another company that, according to what was published on Reddit, has "supported" CTS Labs from the very beginning, I don't remember the name, but it was on Reddit. It's a company accused in Germany of this type of practices with some pharmaceutical companies and other companies.

I already lowered my war fist months ago Roberto 😉 the first comment was about CTS Labs' credibility, not about you.

  2. Just a few weeks after releasing a new generation of microprocessors come to say that there are 13 vulnerabilities? How many million dollar bags were there?
