AMD offers more information on the features and items that chipsets intended for its AMD Ryzen processors would support.
We have seen a lot of motherboards for the new AMD Ryzen processors, which have socket AM4 and also these have the new chipset of the company. The vast majority of the views are with the X370 chipset, AMD's most advanced with overclocking functions among other features aimed at advanced users. Now in some filtered slides, we can see in greater depth what each of these chipsets offers us.
The X370, B350 and A320 are quite similar, since all three have native support for USB 3.1 Gen 2 (Thunderbolt), all three have support for three SATA Express ports and regarding the SATA III, the B350 and A320 support two connectors, while the X370 supports up to four of these connectors. The X370 and B350 support overclocking, while only the X370 supports CrossFireX / SLI configurations.
These new chipsets also offer a large number of USB ports. The new X370 is the most powerful in this regard, offering two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, six USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, and six USB 2.0 ports. The B350 only modifies the number of USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, of which it supports only two, for the rest it is the same as the X370. The A320 is the most bare-bones in this regard, as it only supports one USB 3.1 Gen 2, two USB 3.1 Gen 1, and six USB 2.0. Regarding the PCIe Gen 2 lanes, the X370 supports eight lanes, the B350 supports six lanes and the A320 supports 4 lanes.
In addition to these three mentioned, we have the X300 and the A300, which do not have support for USB 3.1 Gen 2 and only the X300 would support overclocking. Regarding the number of USB ports, SATA ports, SATA Express ports or number of PCIe Gen 2 lanes, we do not have any data in this regard, since AMD has not yet provided this information.
