AMD Epyc CPUs discovered with the first Zen 5 cores
Last year was when AMD launched its Zen 4 line of Epyc CPU for data centers, codenamed "Genoa«. A year after its launch, the red brand is already preparing the next generation of these EPYC CPUs for servers, codenamed Turin. According to Extremetech, a Twitter account of a regular leaker has published what could be photos of AMD's next generation of Epyc CPUs.
It is expected that its core count will increase as AMD moves towards its new Zen 5 architecture. It is not clear when these server CPUs will be released, but as usual, if they have already been seen, there could be a few months until their announcement and official launch.

Twitter user @yuuki_ans has posted photos of the new Turin CPUs and some block diagrams. He claims AMD will produce two variants, with a standard data center chip and a second, denser version. with low-power Zen 5c cores for maximum core density. This standard Turin chip would have 128 cores and 256 threads, an increase over the Genoa's 96 cores and 192 threads. The Zen 5c version will have 192 cores and 384 threads, more than the 128 cores and 256 threads of Bergamo.
These new CPUs They will be compatible with DDR5-6000 memories, compared to the DDR5-4800 of the Zen 4 version. They will also be compatible with PCIe Gen 5 and CXL 2.0, in addition to being compatible with the existing SP5 socket.

The diagram leaked by @yuuki_ans shows the standard CPU with 16 CCDs of 16 cores each. The Zen 5c version has 12. The new generation Epyc CCDs have 32 MB of L3 cache, so the 16-chip version will have 512 MB, while the Zen 5c chip with 12 chips will offer 384 MB of cache.
These CPUs will go up against the next generation of Intel Xeon, which is also expected to launch sometime in 2024. They will use their new Intel process 3, and the E cores from its consumer chips to data center chips. The first is expected to be a Sierra Forest, which will offer 144 and 288 cores and will compete with AMD's Zen 5c chip. The version with performance cores would be Granite rapids, which would be expected by the end of 2024.
