The AMD Fenghuang APU, a solution based with Zen cores, such as Ryzen and Vega graphics, appears in SiSoft Sandra, becoming the most powerful APU of the company in the market.
On January 9, CES 2018 begins and AMD is 'forced' to present many new features regarding processors and APUs. Now it has been the SiSoft Sandra database, who has 'leaked' the most important APU of the company that is marked within the company's Roadmap. This receives the code name of AMD Fenghuang, which will have 28 Compute Units accompanied by 1792 Stream Processors, making it the most powerful APU of the company and possibly this will be destined for desktop computers.
AMD in this case has chosen an interesting name for this processor, to talk about it in code, against other companies, such as Intel, which is only based on numbers. The name of this product, of Asian origin, given to mythological birds, makes clear the internal importance of this product. We don't know the architecture of this APU, but it will be between 14nm and 7nm, although it seems clear that this AMD Fenghuang will have Zen cores, like Ryzen processors. There is a possibility that this APU is based on the eight-core Zeppelin, something that has been rumored, but there are no details about it.
About the data of this product, we see the 1792 Stream Processors, which make this APU the most important in the company. This processor would work at a frequency of 2.4GHz and in Boost mode it would reach 3.0GHz. Additionally, this APU will have a 16Kb cache and 2GB of unidentified memory appears, which could be HBM2 memory. The graphics card works at 555MHz, a frequency that aims to be lower than the one we will see at the time it is launched on the market and that would be around 700MHz at the time of market launch. This GPU would give a theoretical performance of 2.5TFLOPS.
