AMD FreeSync 2 to be unveiled at CES 2017

FreeSync is updated to become AMD FreeSync 2 with support for HDR dynamic imaging technology on monitors.

AMD not for these days. Since the special event was announced for the 5th, which is the same starting day of CES 2017, they have not only provided the video that announces news, but also news regarding FreeSync has been leaked. This AMD synchronization technology with the monitors will have an update called AMD FreeSync 3 with an important novelty and that is that it will work automatically in HDR mode, logically, as long as we have a monitor that supports HDR.

The details at this time are limited and it is foreseeable that during CES we will see not only more data on this technology, but the first monitors that have FreeSync 2. Some may think that an upgrade to a FreeSync 2 monitor is not necessary if you have one with FreeSync and HDR, but it goes very wrong. HDR autoscaling will only work on FreeSync 2 certified monitors. This forces users to renew the monitor with one that is certified for AMD technology, HDR support and of course, a new graphics card.

HDR is a technology in photography that is based on taking two photographs, one with underexposure (it is quite dark) and the other with overexposure (very bright, with strong light flashes) and when joining them using software we obtain an image of an extremely realistic quality, That seems to have been obtained through hours of photographic retouching, although it has not really been the case and it has been done using two photos. Smartphones usually do this dynamically if we activate the mode, which during this moment that is taking the photos we cannot move, since if we do, the image will be blurred.
