AMD launches special and exclusive drivers for mining cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Zcash

AMD launches the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta drivers for the Blockchain Compute, designed exclusively for mining Ethereum and Zcash, without support for heavy graphic loads, as occurs in games.

The mining of cryptocurrencies has been established as something important for AMD and NVIDIA, who have already moved a tab in these markets and are developing or would already have specific graphics only for mining Ethereum and Zcash, respectively. AMD has now released a specific driver, specifically the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for the Blockchain Compute. This AMD driver makes it clear that this driver is beta and should be considered like this and that it is not compatible with other updates or bug fixes. It also makes it clear that this driver was not developed for graphics or heavy gaming workloads.

AMD has also specified that these drivers have been optimized for cryptocurrency mining. The specific version of this driver is 17.30.1029 and it has been developed exclusively for Windows 10 64/32 bits and also for Windows 7 64/32 bits, but does not refer to Windows 8. It is also clarified that to install the drivers Administrator permissions are required for the installation of these exclusive drivers for cryptocurrency mining and not only this, it also requires Service Pack 1 in Windows 7, to function.

The graphics families for which this driver has been optimized have also been specified, including the Radeon HD 7700 - HD 7900; HD 8500 - HD 8900; R5 200; R5 300; R7 200; Pro Duo; R9 200; R9 300; R9 Nano; R9 Fury; R7 300; RX 400 Series; RX 500 Series and RX Vega Series. It can also be used with Radeon Pro WX graphics cards, specifically the Pro WX 4100; Pro WX 5100; Pro WX 7100.

We do not know for sure the improvement they offer and the total performance of more that these specific drivers can give, but they are a recently launched novelty. We already have them and we are installing them in our miners, to see what changes are made, if these graphics will offer more mining power, just by installing them, consumption will be reduced or what changes they offer. When we have preliminary data we will inform you.

  1. Hi, have you tried them with Bios Mod on RX480 and 580? Right now I'm using the ones Robbind posted on BitcoinTalk a few weeks ago, and they work perfectly and fix the mh/s drop.

    1. friend I have problems with the rx580 that only recognizes me 3 of the 6 installed gpu you know if this driver solves this problem

  2. It would be great if you could comment when you have the data on whether the mining improves with the Vega, because if not, what a fake. I'm hesitating to get them or not.

  3. I have tried them, the consumption is unknown, but increasing it slightly increases the mh/s of each graphic card. In total, I gain 5 or 6 mh/s. You will comment.

    1. Hello Marcos, in total how much does it arrive? for consumer issues you could install the HWInfo64 or 32 depending on the operating system you have if you are on windows it is a very good program that says sensor values of the entire pc.
      All the best
