AMD will have Black Edition processors in the new Zen architecture

Processors have the ability to improve performance, but only if they allow it. Overclocking is quite common with processors, and it has even become a competitive practice among overclockers worldwide. AMD plans to launch new processors with the Zen architecture soon . These processors have sparked a big question: will it be possible to overclock them and, consequently, improve their performance? The Italian website BitsAndChips has announced that AMD processors will have a Black Edition version that will allow overclocking.

According to the Italian media, they have asked their AMD sources about this fact and have informed them that their Black Edition processors will have the multiplier unlocked, which will allow overclocking without major problems. We must emphasize that this information is based on an alleged AMD source, which we do not know if it will be true or not. The normal thing would be that indeed the Zen of AMD had a Black Edition version, as in the last generations, since they are quite considered among gamers and overclockers.

The Italian media points out that at least one processor from the Zen family will be eight-core and will belong to the Black Edition branch, in addition to having the multiplier unlocked and will be ideal for overclocking. The information indicates that the processor will have a 95W TDP, which will come without a stock heatsink, since overclockers usually use liquid cooling or extreme heat dissipation systems, such as liquid nitrogen.

AMD's Zen architecture will also feature a technology similar to Hyperthreading (albeit under a different name), offering up to 16 processing threads for the eight-core models. They will support the latest DDR4 RAM, PCIe 3.0, NVMe hard drives , and more. We'll find out for sure at CES, where they will be officially unveiled, and these new processors are expected to hit the market in late February or early March.
