AMD RX Vega 64 and AMD RX Vega 56 officially presented at AMD Cpasaicin

AMD gives all the characteristics of the AMD RX Vega 64 in its three aspects and presents the AMD RX Vega 56, a model with power and shortened dimensions, but no benchmark on the performance of these graphics.

The AMD Capsaicin event has finally shown confirmed the AMD RX Vega, after two years and above all, seven months of various dimes and diretes. Finally we will have the AMD RX Vega 64 and AMD RX Vega 54, two models, based on two different GPUs, which have differential characteristics. The Vega 64 will be the most powerful, while the Vega 54 is a slightly trimmed model, not only at the GPU level, but also at the PCB level, removing the excess added to install the blower heatsink in the powerful models.

The Radeon RX Vega 64 will have three versions, all of which will have 4096 Stream Processors, although each will have different characteristics. The first model, the one with the reference heatsink, similar to the one mounted on the AMD RX 480, will be priced at $ 499 in the absence of taxes and the change to euros. This model has a base frequency of 1247MHz and a Boost frequency of 1546MHz, with 8GB HBM2 that offer a bandwidth of 484GB / s. Regarding power, in terms of performance it should offer 12.66TFLOPS and a TDP of 295W (practically the same as the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti)

We move on to the Limited Edition, which is completely equal in frequencies to the Vega 64 with stock heatsink. The big difference is in the heatsink, which is made of brushed aluminum, both the fan area and the backplate, in addition to having red LED lighting. The price of this model is $ 599 and has been developed primarily for display in modding or high-end equipment.

Regarding the Liquid Edition, it shares the heatsink designed for the Limited Edition, in polished aluminum, but in this case it hides an All-in-One liquid cooling heatsink, which according to the available data, would have been developed by Cooler Master. This model works at a base frequency of 1406MHz and would have a Boost frequency of 1677MHz, offering a processing power of 13.7TFLOPS, while the rest of the characteristics are the same as its sisters. This has a 345W TDP (similar to the Frontier Edition) and will cost $ 699.

AMD has not allowed to see a benchmark, it has simply shown a graph, where it specifies that the Vega 64 in 4K, would gain 17 FPS of minimum to the GTX 1060, remaining equal in the rate of maximum FPS (there is 1FPS of difference, that is not nothing). In 1440p the Vega has a minimum rate of 53FPS and the GTX 1080 of 45FPS. The FPS differences seem to be at the minimum and not at the maximum. We must take this data as relative, since it is an average of several games and as usual, when the reviews appear, in some games it will win against NVIDIA and in others it will lose.

We jump to the RX Vega 56, a simpler model, with significant cuts. This graphics card will have a Vega 10 XL GPU, which offers us 3584 Stream Processors, which will work at a base frequency of 1156MHz and a Boost frequency of 1471MHz, using HBM2 memories, although the amount of HBM2 memory that will use, but it will be a slightly slower model, working these at 800MHz, compared to the 945MHz at which these memories work in previous models. This would offer a power of 10.5TFLOPS with a TDP of 210W and would be priced at $ 399. There is no performance data, but the logical thing would be that if the RX 580 is on par with the GTX 1060, this graphics card competes with the GTX 1070.

AMD wants to break with the market and its solution has been to offer different packs, which are based on the purchase of an RX Vega, with two gift titles and a discount coupon for the purchase of a Ryzen processor and motherboard and up to 200 $ discount on the purchase of a monitor with FreeSync technology. All this will be confirmed in September, which is when the graphics will be released, as we already anticipated just before Computex 2017.
