AMD Ryzen or the first AMD Zen processor

The AMD Ryzen processor of the AMD Zen family and some of the features that they will incorporate are filtered.

We are a few hours away from the start of the AMD New Horizon event, in which the AMD Zen processors will theoretically be presented and who knows if the RX 490, after yesterday a benchmark made with DOOM was leaked. The processor is called AMD Ryzen, which will be made official tomorrow. This processor will have eight cores and sixteen processing threads, with a frequency of 3.4GHz +, which makes us think that this frequency will be the base one and will have an undetermined Boost mode. The processor as we can see will have 20MB of L2 and L3 cache, also using the latest technologies developed by AMD.

AMD will include Extended Frequency Range (XFR). What this technology allows is to increase the frequencies above the Boost mode. The frequency in this case will be scaled as long as our refrigeration is of high quality, either by air, water or liquid nitrogen. This modification is totally automatic, so we will not intervene in this effect. What this would indicate is that if the processor has a temperature below a certain value and the frequency will be lowered if the temperature exceeds a certain range.

We also have Smart Prefetch technology, which is the use of learning algorithms, which allows anticipating access times to information and improving performance and benefits. Pure Power is a technology that will monitor temperature, speed and voltage in real time, which allows great energy savings. Precision Boost for its part maximizes the performance of the processor, allowing to increase the frequency in blocks of 25MHz for a better tuning of the power.

We will see during the AMD event if they offer more information about it and all the news regarding the AMD Zen processors and we also assume about the AMD RX 490.
