It has not been the stores that have raised the price of the AMD RX Vega 64, but it has been AMD itself who has raised the price of its graphics cards and has not given an explanation of the reason.
The official landing of the AMD RX Vega is not being far from as good as AMD expected, since they do not comply with performance, consumption and price and stock, well, since there are serious problems to buy one of these charts. Theoretically, the AMD RX Vega 64 had to be launched at a price of $ 499, a price that made them more interesting (only for price), than the NVIDIA GTX 1080, although the reality has been quite different.
Yesterday the AMD RX Vega 64 were officially launched and the initial price of $ 499 lasted rather little, indeed, in Spain they have not been below € 600 at any time. Initially it has been said that the price has been raised by the high demand for these graphics cards and it was quickly blamed on the miners, the perfect excuse these days for the shortage of AMD stock (curiously, that does not happen with the NVIDIA and that the miners buy them in mass to mine Zcash). Well, none of that, since the price has been manipulated by AMD and the distributors have had nothing to do with this.
The inexpensive models have not lasted long and the quantity, apparently was quite scarce, of these discounted graphics. Prices rose quickly to $ 599, which is 20% more. There is no information on this move from AMD, since it is various media such as Overclock3D or TechPowerUp who have asked about this and have not received a response from the company. Giving away the Wolfenstein II and the Prey for the purchase of an RX Vega is not overcompensating.
It is clear that AMD's strategy in the graphics card segment is horrible and that they cannot replicate the success of the AMD Ryzen. The Vega have reached the market consuming an authentic stupidity and only come to compete with the GTX 1080 and thanks, which allows NVIDIA to delay the gaming graphics cards with Volta GPUs until next year and also not to release anything else to the market, in when it comes to graphics, it really has no need. The reality is that the disaster of the RX Vega 64 is not justifiable and we will see if it does not remain in a mining graph, if AMD removes the driver lock that has been introduced in the RX Vega.
Well thank goodness they say it has been a Fail, that if they become good you have to ask for a credit to buy them.
There are people who want to buy a Radeon Vega, therefore the result is easy to obtain ...
Reduced supply with high demand equal to high prices, now, that does not mean that AMD took 20% of market share from Nvidia because it is more than obvious that Nvidia sells more and always has more units in stock.
