AMD Vega passes the Titan XP in a new benchmark, yes again in Doom, it is no coincidence.

It seems that finally today will not be as black a day for AMD as it seemed at first. In the morning we were spectators of how the new Intel Basins Falls were much more powerful than their competition. However, a matter of hours ago, AMD has decided to show a new benchmark in a classic video game in which its GPUs tend to perform better, we are talking about DOOM. In this test we can see how the new AMD Vega passes over the Titan XP, leaving it far behind. Now let's go on to analyze a little more in depth what this result means.

In case the reliability of the benchmark is presented, you can rest assured, the sources are 100% reliable. According to the data of this test carried out on a GTX 108O, an Nvidia Titan Xp and an RX Vega, the third of these three would be well above the first and much better located than the second. Seeing that the GTX 1080 is no match for our protagonist, let's see how better this is.

The improvement that the RX supposes in this test with respect to the Titan Xp is nothing more and nothing less than 29%, quite impressive considering that we are talking about the most powerful graphics card oriented to gaming in all history in the global market. With about 142 fps it beats the 25 fps of Nvidia's very high-end model by a total of 115 fps, unfortunately we have no more benchmarks to compare.

However, as AMD has us used to with the rest of its benchmarks, the game used is DOOM, which always benefits it compared to Nvidia architectures. As it had already happened with the RX 400 and RX 500 AMD, it performs much better than Pascal in low-level APIs such as Vulkan and Open GL or in the well-known DirectX12. This difference is greatly diminished in the most used API currently, DX11, although it must be said that the future is not DX 12, but DX 12 and others like those mentioned before.

In conclusion, let's calm all our spirits because although it seems that the RX Vega aims very high, we will have to see how it performs in games that are not so well optimized for their architectures and others. For now, we can only wait for more benchmarks to come out to confirm whether it will finally be as powerful or will remain in another of AMD's fairy tales that usually promises, let's not forget when they said that a RX 480 Crossfire outperformed a GTX performance 1080.
