The canceled NVIDIA Shield 2 appears in a Canadian exchange

They find the NVIDIA Shield 2 in a Canadian pawn shop, the console that disappeared overnight, predictably, due to the development of the Nintendo Switch.

A few days after CES 2017 there was talk about the arrival of a possible NVIDIA Shield 2 that would be presented and would arrive together with the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti, but at no time this year have we seen anything about the company's portable console, which ended for being discarded without knowing data, until now on this console. We did not know anything until now, since thanks to a certain FwrigginRwootbeer, a Reddit user, I published images about the Shield 2 console, about its prototype, found in a pawnshop in Canada.

The latest revision of this console, which never hit the market, is considerably thinner than the first version, logically lighter and with much thinner frames, in addition to having more powerful hardware. This Shield 2 uses an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor, which has four Cortex-A57 cores with a working frequency of 1.91GHz, which curiously is the same as the [amazon_textlink asin = 'B01N5OPMJW' text = 'Nintendo Switch' template = 'ProductLink' store = 'hardwa028-21 ′ marketplace =' ES 'link_id =' 69faa1ff-8cbd-11e7-b21a-eba1fd3bb5b6 ′], something that could have led to the cancellation of this console, to focus on Nintendo's solution , which was aimed to outsell the NVIDIA console.

That both consoles carry the same SoC and need to polish different aspects, could have meant that NVIDIA put aside its console to focus on Nintendo's. The integrated processor would also have 3GB of RAM, a 5.9-inch screen would have been arranged and would offer a maximum resolution of 1440 × 810. For storage 32GB were available and also support for microSD cards. We do not know if NVIDIA will work on Shield again, but it is curious, of course, what can be found in a pawn shop.
