The 3DMark benchmark software reveals an Intel Coffee Lake processor of unknown name, but that has eight cores and sixteen processing threads.

Much has been said about Intel Coffee Lake processors and the possibility of these processors having eight cores and sixteen threads. Until now it was all a guess, but a leak would confirm the arrival of the Z390 chipset motherboards, specially developed to support the Coffee Lake-S eight-core, sixteen-thread processor. This processor only has one mission, to compete directly with the AMD Ryzen 2 processors, which will hit the market on April 19.

These Z390 processors are processors somewhere between the Skylake-X range and the six-core Coffee Lake gaming. They are designed for gaming, but they go much further than gaming. Not all processors will be eight-core, new six-core processors will also be launched, with greater overclocking capacity, although what interests us is the eight-core processor and how it performs.

The leak has been thanks to 3DMark, although of course, as it does not have official support anywhere, it does not show much data. The screenshot shows that it is an eight-core, sixteen-thread processor, with a base frequency of 2.2GHz and we do not know what the frequency will be in Boost mode. There is also no data on the final name of the processor (it could be 8700X or 8750K), the manufacturing process does not appear either and the TDP is not reflected either, but it should be around 100W of TDP.

It should be noted that the speculations came the same day that Eurocom, a manufacturer of laptops, already commented that they would launch laptops with Intel eight-core physical processors, indeed, they confirmed the Z390 chipset for 8C / 16T processors and that they would arrive in the second mid-2018, although everything points to them arriving a little earlier.
