Apple announces Apple Arcade, its game subscription service
For a fee we will have a hundred quality mobile games. They promise they will not have ads or microtransactions.
Apple has just announced in its Keynote that in the fall it will come to a new service under the name of Apple Arcade. It is focused on emphasizing mobile gaming, thinking of paid games that normally do not have the attention when requiring a payment.
Apple Arcade is Apple's gaming subscription service
They gave an example that people prefer to go for Clash Royale before Monument Valley 2. Apple Arcade will be made so that those paid games can be enjoyed without problems. It is a subscription service, of course, that will allow us to play more than a hundred games.
They promise us that all those games will be playable without a streaming service involved. If we want to play a game through Apple Arcade, we can download and play it even in Airplane Mode. It will be available for iPad, iPhone, iMac, and Apple TV when it arrives on those devices in the fall.
We can buy a subscription and share it with all our family and friends with family share. And as they already said with Apple Card and Apple New +, they will not be able to track what we play and they will not sell usage data for advertisers. Apple Arcade is expected to reach more than 150 countries upon launch, and we imagine that Spain and several Latin American countries are among them, since it is not a service that requires many legal agreements. They have partnered with several dozen developers and producers such as Sega and Devolver Digital, so we can expect that several of the games that we can play with Apple Arcade have a minimum of quality to justify the price of a monthly subscription, even with a price to know.
