The company Imagination Technologies, manufacturers of GPUs, has communicated that Apple does not want to renew its agreement, because they are working on their own GPUs and will no longer need their services.
Apple has cut its ties with the British company Imagination Technologies, which was responsible for the manufacture of GPUs for Apple's mobile devices, both the iPhone family and iPads.
This business move is due to the fact that the Californian company has begun to manufacture its own graphics processors. But this deal is not of immediate effect, since Imagination Technologies will continue to manufacture the GPUs for two years.
A year ago, Apple tried to buy this company, but the negotiations did not reach an agreement. Now, with this change, the shares of Imagination Technologies have fallen 60%, since almost half of the income of this company comes from this pact.
Knowing this news, the next iPhones and iPads could carry hardware entirely made by Apple. Because Apple is already in charge of manufacturing the processors of its terminals, such as the AXX chips. These chips have a performance well above the rest of their competitors, which makes it clear that Apple knows how to do its job very well when it comes to hardware. So this movement could end with GPUs that destroy the current Adreno and Mali.
But not everything is good for Californians, since Imagination thinks that those of the apple will not be able to create a new graphics chip from scratch and with a performance to match, without touching the patents of other companies, including Imagination Technologies.
We will still have to wait two years, at least, to see the results of this action, and if in the end it ends up being carried out, and they do not end up backing down.

Everything Ok, having clarified the point .. if it seems to me that there is a great area of opportunity with respect to the other manufacturers and that google can do much more optimizing its OS, although the HW ecosystem is much more diverse, they should be supported between the commercial partners and decide on specific API's or already flat in the modifications that the manufacturers make, add specific drivers for the well-debugged SoC!
