The new Bitmain ASIC for Ethereum will arrive between the second quarter and the third quarter of this year, which will implement a total of 72GB of DRAM memory, according to the first data.

Thanks to the ASICs for Bitcoin, the giant Bitmain has a great mining power and a large part of the ASIC market today, for Bitcoin. This cryptocurrency is not profitable to mine in many countries and that is well known by Bitmain, who is working on ASICs for other cryptocurrencies, with the intention of offering solutions for all types of users. They are also aware of the graphics card stock problems, so they have an important vein and want to make the most of it, so during the second or third quarter of this year they will launch new ASICs.

These new ASICs, as they have communicated, have been developed for the mining of Ethereum and are called Bitmain F3. As reported, the miner will have three motherboards and six ASIC-type processors in each of them has 32 1GB DDR3 modules. Each of these new F3s contains a total of 72GB of DRAM memory.

Possibly the data are not the final ones or there will be several models, because the figures do not quite add up. What stands out is the 72GB of DRAM memory, something that surpasses any graphics card and therefore should leave the GPUs quite ridiculous.

It should be noted that Bitmain has highlighted that the main problem it faces is DRAM memories, something that would explain why Bitmain is visiting several providers of this type of memory.

Bitmain currently has a demand for at least 3.000 12-inch wafers per month. The chips for the Ethereum ASICs began to be produced last February of this year, through the 28nm process of TSMC and it will not be until the end of the second quarter or the beginning of the third quarter, when they reach the market. They have been developed to exploit the ethhash protocol, which is what Ethereum is based on.
