New facts about the ASUS B250 Mining Expert motherboard, a motherboard with eighteen PCIe x1 ports and one PCIe x16 port, which supports a maximum of sixteen graphics cards.
Cryptocurrency mining is a global trend and more and more people are opting for this system to get extra income. The mining of cryptocurrencies, in some cases is based on graphics cards and other times on ASICs. For Ethereum, Zcash or LBRY, graphics cards are used and what is much sought after is efficiency. The last proposed solution has been that of ASUS with its ASUS B250 Expert Mining motherboard, which offers support for a maximum of sixteen graphics cards, despite having eighteen PCIe x1 ports and one PCIe x16 port.
We already talked about this motherboard, but new images and some more data have been released. This motherboard allows to integrate up to sixteen graphics in a single motherboard, which allows saving in consumption and hardware. The motherboard also supports three power supplies through the three 24-pin connection pins, which allows all three to be turned on at the same time and avoid any energy problem at startup, something that can occur in secondary power supplies.
ASUS's solution, like other motherboards, has a graphics limitation, allowing only eight graphics from AMD and another eight from NVIDIA, adding a total of sixteen graphics, so this solution is very interesting, since we can mine Ethereum and Zcash simultaneously. There are three PCIe x1 ports without graphics or without support at the moment, for unknown reasons. As we can see, this motherboard ignores design and superfluous elements, focusing on what matters, the maximum connectivity of video cards for mining.
