The ASUS ViVoMini will receive an update, which will be based on Intel Kaby Lake processors.
ASUS has just announced an update to its ViVoMini line of equipment, ASUS 'line of small computers. The ASUS ViVoMini VM65 family is updated with next-generation Intel Kaby Lake processors. The new systems similar to the Intel NUC, in addition to having new Intel processors, will support DDR4 RAM, discrete graphics from NVIDIA and improved audio SonicMaster from the company itself.
These new computers will have Core i3 / i5 / i7 processors, but logically low consumption. The processors in this case will be quad-core and, as we have said, with low consumption, they will make use of advanced processing technology and being a new generation, they will offer better performance compared to the Skylake. As reported by ASUS, the new VM65s will have 11% more performance compared to current ones with Skylake processors. These can also hold up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, improving the performance of the whole.
An NVIDIA GeForce 930M Optimus discrete graphics card has been integrated, with the intention of supporting 4K UHD resolutions, which allows for smooth video playback or casual gaming, among others. Additionally, these new teams will have integrated SonicMaster speakers, something interesting that will eliminate the need to have external speakers installed.
Regarding storage, these units can house up to two 2.5 ”units, which allows us to install two SSD units or an SSD unit as the first disk and an HDD as a secondary unit for mass storage. This has been achieved by means of a special bay called ViVo DualBay. Those who do not have this bay, will only support a 3.5 ”HDD for storage (it could be something only for teams with a Core i3).
The ASUS ViVoMini VM65 and VM65N teams will hit the market in mid-January in principle only for the United Kingdom, but little by little they will reach the rest of the countries. These units will have a starting price of 400 pounds, which is approximately € 479 in exchange.
