In recent years, Qualcomm has seen an increase in demand from both OEMs and customers for higher quality audio wirelessly and without loss. The convenience of wireless technology comes with a necessary loss of quality when compressing sound for your wireless communication. This is why Qualcomm launches aptX Lossless audio technology.
Qualcomm continued to demonstrate its vision and leadership in the wireless audio space today with the announcement of Qualcomm aptX Lossless audio technology to its already extensive audio portfolio. AptX Lossless technology is a new capability of proven aptX Adaptive technology and a new feature of Snapdragon Sound technology that is designed to deliver 16-bit, 44,1 kHz lossless audio quality over Bluetooth wireless technology.
Higher wireless audio quality
Qualcomm has taken a systems-level approach with aptX Lossless and has optimized a number of basic audio and wireless connectivity technologies. This includes aptX Adaptive, which work together to auto-detect and scale, and are designed to deliver CD-quality lossless audio when a user is listening to a lossless music file and radio frequency conditions are suitable.
AptX Lossless features
- Supports 16-bit 44,1 kHz CD lossless audio quality.
- It is designed to scale to lossless audio CDs based on the quality of the Bluetooth link.
- User can select between 44,1 kHz lossless and 24-bit lossy 96 kHz audio CD.
- Automatically detect to enable CD lossless audio when the source is lossless audio.
- Mathematically exact bit by bit.
