Benchmark of the Sniper Elite 4 game with NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards under DirectX 12, the better the AMD R9 Fury X graphics cards the higher the resolution at which it is played.

The arrival of the Sniper Elite 4 game that is optimized for DirectX 12, has been used by TechPowerUp to see the performance of AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards under DirectX 12. It should be noted that the NVIDIA Maxwell and NVIDIA Pascal graphics cards are not prepared for DX12, while AMD GCN graphics cards do support this API flawlessly, what's more, DX12 performance is better on AMD than NVIDIA. We will analyze the TechPowerUp data and see what they can offer us.

These tests have been carried out in 1080p, 2K and 4K resolutions and we see that the higher the resolution, the better the AMD graphics cards perform. Among them, the R9 Fury X 4GB card stands out, which in 1080p and 2K resolution is below the GTX 1070, very close in 2K resolution, so much so that there is barely 1FPS difference. In 4K resolutions, the R9 Fury X is between the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080. We must say that the R9 Fury X graphics card, as shown Tom's Hardware, the consumption of these graphics cards in gaming is extremely high, doubling the consumption of NVIDIA graphics.

Although the NVIDIA graphics cards are not ready and do not support DX12 as well, the performance of these graphics cards is very good. Regarding the gain of graphics cards, there is a performance increase between 10-15% performance improvement, what's more, the performance improvement in the R9 Fury X in 4K resolution exceeds by approximately 20% in performance to the cards NVIDIA graphics. Now we must wait for Volta to arrive, the first generation of graphics cards that support DX12. What is clear is that AMD really gains in performance in DX12 and the higher the resolution we play at.
