Biostar RX 470D, a graphics card with fewer Stream Processors optimized for mining

Biostar has announced the Biostar RX 470D graphics card, a graphics card with fewer Stream Processors than the AMD RX 470, but optimized for cryptocurrency mining.

Mining is a trend today and both users and manufacturers are developing graphics cards and motherboards to optimize mining. Biostar has launched different graphics cards for mining, the most recent the Biostar TB250-BTC PRO 12, which has been designed to support two miners at the same time, specifically six NVIDIA and six AMD graphics can be installed, which mine both groups per separate Zcash and Ethereum. Well, Biostar has developed the Biostar RX 470D graphics card, designed exclusively for cryptocurrencies.

Biostar has optimized this chart for cryptocurrencies, which is codenamed VA47D5RV42. The graphics card is based on a reduced edition of the Polaris 10 LE chip, a chip that has been developed primarily for OEM systems, but has been modified by Biostar to incorporate it into the graphics mining market. The RX 470D has 1792 Stream Processors, compared to the 2048 Steam Processors that are integrated in the RX 470 graphics card, although the final destination is mining, not gaming, so there are other small differences.

Not only does it have a lower number of Stream Processors, it also has a frequency limitation, being this 1200MHz in Boost mode, while GDDR5 memories work at a frequency of 7GHz. This graphics card also differs from the other graphics cards for mining that we have seen, in that it has all the video outputs, something that is suppressed in graphics cards for mining. This chart has three DisplayPort ports, an HDMI port and a DVI. The consumption of this graphics card should also be lower. It has not been discussed what its mining power, availability or price is.
