The Nintendo Switch version of Bloodstained is dire
Nintendo Switch users who want to play Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night are faced with a severely flawed version. 505 Games is preparing a patch to address these issues.
The spiritual successor to Catslevania arrived last week on the Nintendo Switch within a week of other platforms. Despite being essentially the same game, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a horrible experience on Switch due to numerous optimization glitches.
Playing Bloodstained on Nintendo Switch is not recommended for now
Many users are listing all those errors that make the experience almost unplayable. It is common for FPS to drop below 15 and never rise above 30, loading times are long and inconsistent, text boxes are missing, crashes every two hours and more small details. An unfortunate sensation, especially for the patrons who put money in and asked that this be the version that they will receive in exchange for their contribution.
505 Games already knows about all these bugs and is preparing a future patch. Despite the fact that they already made a first-day one, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is still in a dire and almost unplayable state. The patch did not optimize almost anything and they are already focused on releasing it instead of preparing future DLCs.
They expect the first of a long list of patches to come out later this week, so the release isn't cut short and new players aren't left with a game in a poor state. And it's a shame that this happens because Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a game that is well worth playing if you are a fan of the Castlevania formula after Symphony of the Night, and as usual, playing it on Nintendo Switch thanks to portability is a huge plus, but not to the detriment of a lot of graphics power and optimization.
