Boost Mode improves performance in games not adapted to PS4 Pro

The Verge confirms that with update 4.50 more performance can be made from games not adapted to PS4 Pro

The new version 4.50 of the Playstation 4 software has been arriving since last Friday to the group of people who are part of the contingent of "beta testers." The highlight of this update is the so-called Boost Mode that will allow PS4 Pro 4 users to take advantage of their superior hardware compared to the standard model in those games that have not been provided with a specialized update for the new platform. To activate this option you only have to access the console settings where you will find the following description:

" Enhanced gameplay experience, including higher frame rates, in some games that were released before the PlayStation 4 Pro (CUH-7000 series) was announced. Disable this option if you experience unexpected behavior during gameplay ."

A Sony representative told The Verge, " We've allowed the PS4 Pro's GPU and CPU to run at a higher clock speed to improve gameplay in some PS4 games that were released before the PS4 Pro launch. Games with variable frame rates will benefit from a frame rate boost, and load times will be shorter in some games as well ." The update will roll out to all users in the coming weeks and will primarily benefit virtual reality games.
