CD Projekt has released a statement to say that there will be no micropayments in Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt, faced with the recent controversy unleashed by EA with in-game micropayments, has come out to say that its new title Cyberpunk 2077 will not have a micropayment system.
The recent bundle by Electronic Arts with Star Wars: Battlefront 2, introducing an unaffordable volume of micropayments that rose to almost $ 2.000, has hit hard in the industry in general. EA has suppressed micropayments in the aforementioned game and has modified its strategy in other titles, but other developers are also coming out to talk about it, indirectly. CD Projekt has come out to specify that its new RPG, the long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077, will have no in-game microtransactions.
This developer has already been criticized for implementing additional payments to get items or obtain loot boxes in The Witcher's online mode, but they have assured that in Cyberpunk 2077, which will also have a multiplayer mode, this will not be the case. The Polish developers wanted to make it very clear, to avoid unnecessary controversy and to avoid users' fear of paying to win: "When you think of Cyberpunk 2077, think of something similar to The Witcher 3: a gigantic single-player adventure, open world, an RPG with an important narrative. There is no cheating; you will get exactly what you pay for. No nonsense; it will be an honest game, like Wild Hunt. We let greed be someone else's thing."
Right at a time with so much controversy for having to pay more, this announcement is very significant and shows that the user community, if it is proposed, has a lot of weight. It is not ruled out that they take out a package of elements that if it is paid, but it will be the minimum of the minimum, not like EA did, which was practically all the characters and extras. The truth is that the game promises a lot and the number of users interested in this title is increasing.
