Not only will new hardware arrive, the company already has several technologies ready, which They will arrive with the next AMD Ryzen based on 12nm, Threadripper processors and Raven Ridge APUs. Several new technologies will arrive, among them, HDMI 2.1 VRR technology, a new technology that is designed for gaming fans.

HDMI 2.1 VRR is a technology that has not been widely reported in Las Vegas. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), which will be implemented in AMD Radeon RX graphics cards through an upcoming update in the Radeon Software Adrenalin drivers and basically this technology that allows you to use FreeSync technology through the HDMI 2.1 video connector, since this technology until now was available only for DisplayPort.

Radeon Software will add support for HDMI 2.1 Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology in Radeon RX products in an upcoming driver release. This support will come as an addition to the Radeon FreeSync technology umbrella, as displays with HDMI 2.1 VRR support will hit the market.

It aims to be a response to the announcement of the NVIDIA Big Format Gaming Displays monitors, which will have a size of up to 65 inches and a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is combined with G-Sync HDR technology. This 'simple' software solution will allow the connection of any display with FreeSync via the HDMI connector. FreeSync monitors are characterized by being cheaper than G-Sync, because the NVIDIA solution requires additional hardware and increases manufacturing costs.
