Elon Musk introduces the Tesla Bot, to reduce work

At a recent Tesla company news presentation, Elon Musk has presented what will be its proposal for the robotization and automation of many repetitive tasks that today would be unthinkable to do without a physical human. This proposal is called Tesla Bot, his proposal of humanoid robots that will perform physical tasks of humans.

According to Elon Musk, they will be created to be able to do physical human tasks that are dangerous, repetitive or simply boring. The Tesla Bot will have a prototype for next year.

Tesla Bot Features

  • Meters 1,70
  • 20 kilos of cargo
  • 56 kilos of weight
  • Lift 68 kilos of deadlift
  • 8 kilometer per hour displacement
  • His outstretched arm lifts 4,5 kilos

On the eternal questions of what would happen if they get out of control or attack humans in a recreation of the Skynet from the Terminator movies or violation of the Asimov's Laws of Robotics, Elon Musk has said that Tesla Bot they will not exceed the physical capabilities of a human. It has affected that a human can surpass them in strength and speed.

They will come incorporated with a screen with useful information to show to humans, it will be made of light materials, the hands will have the same detail as those of a human, force-receiving sensors and will have 40 electromechanical actuators:

  • 12 in the arms
  • 2 the neck
  • 2 on the torso
  • 12 in the hands
  • 12 on the legs

The artificial intelligence of the Tesla Bot will work through autopilot cameras and an FSD computer. It will have a neural network of video cameras, neural network planning, self-tagging, simulators and simulation tools, FDS hardware, and combat training. Elon Musk understands that these robots can take away an untold number of jobs and that it will be necessary to start implementing a Universal Basic Income to face the reality that many jobs will be lost without assured relocation.

Many economists and sociologists have been warning of the latter since automation began to eliminate both complex jobs of specialization and the simplest ones involving physical strength. A part of the human factor will always be needed, but the most repetitive and deteriorating jobs at a physical and mental level are going to be the ones that are going to be replaced and therefore, these workers would need said Universal Basic Income to be able to survive.
