According to industry sources, the Colorful company would be finalizing its motherboards with socket AM4 and AMD 400 Series chipset, which would be presented during Computex 2018.
Motherboards are important elements when configuring a computer, since, depending on the needs and characteristics we want, we will need one motherboard or another. This market already has important players and a wide variety of solutions, but it seems that a new player is going to enter, at least for AMD Ryzen processors. Colorful, would be working on its first motherboard with socket AM4, according to some sources within the industry, which will mean a new competitor.
It seems that the Asian company will launch the first motherboards with socket AM4 after Computex 2018, which will be held next June and could show them at the event. The motherboard will feature the AMD 400 Series chipset and will support Pinnacle Ridge processors, Raven Ridge APUs, and Summit Ridge processors. In addition, this motherboard will make full use of the PCIe 3.0 connectivity that the AMD 400 Series chipsets will offer, so they would have several 32Gbps NVMe interfaces, although it is not known if they will all be M.2 or will also opt for some U.2.
It is also said that the company could launch a higher-end model within the iGame Vulcan family, although this is something that is unknown. Currently, they already manufacture motherboards, but only for Intel processors, being able to find models with the Z370 and X299 chipsets on the market, as well as some special motherboards for cryptocurrency mining, with simpler chipsets, such as the B250. We must also remember that the AMD Ryzen 2 or Pinnacle Ridge will hit the market during the second quarter of this year, although there is no specific date yet for its presentation and launch.
