Much is being said these days about the AMD RX Vega 64 and the 43MH / s that this graphics card can give, with a discrepancy, the consumption and that is that some have bought that of the 130W, without bothering to check it or review the later information that indicated that 130W, nothing at all, that actually consumed 386W and it seems that the 130W, is another deception of the graphics card drivers. We must emphasize at this point, that if the RX Vega 64 for consumption and price does not pay, the Titan Xp for price and mining power, it does not pay, although it is interesting to see what difference there is between the two and what they can offer, although the most logical comparison would be with an NVIDIA GTX 1080.

The RX Vega 64 graphics card is the Liquid Edition, so the consumption will be a little higher than the reference models (in principle). The HBM2 memories have undergone overclocking, from the stock 945MHz to 1100MHz, which is the maximum that these memories allow to upload without causing stability problems. Under these parameters and mining Ethereum, the graphics card has given a stable result of 42.9MH / s with an average consumption of 294W, working at a temperature of 50ºC and the fan running at 960RPM, something that is very good. During the tests, peaks of more than 300W have been registered, but they are normal fluctuations.

On the other hand, we have the Titan Xp, which with the basic parameters of the graphics card has given 35MH / s with a consumption of 200W and a temperature of 62ºC, quite interesting data. By modifying the working frequency of the GDDR5X, more than 42MH / s have been achieved, specifically with an increase of 610MHz, 42.5MH / s have been registered with a consumption of 275W and in the case of increasing 740MHz, the consumption reaches 280W, but the power drops to 42MH / s. It has also been tested by modifying the power limits, giving an average of 42MH / s and a consumption that has reached 290W giving 42.4MH / s with a temperature of 80ºC.

Although the comparison is interesting, neither of the two would be bought by someone who is going to dedicate himself to mining, because what is sought is a rapid return of profitability to earn money. The RX Vega 64 is cheaper, but the consumption problem seems to be present and the Titan Xp is very expensive and although it consumes somewhat less, the return on investment time is too high, it does not matter. The best without a doubt for mining are the RX 580/570 (impossible to find) and the NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB, due to power, consumption and price (although the NVIDIAs are going up in price and must be taken into account)
