First full review of the Zotac GTX 1080 Ti AMP graphics card! Extreme Edition reveals an extremely powerful graphics card with outstanding performance.
German website HardwareLuxx has published the first details of the Zotac GTX 1080 Ti AMP! Extreme Edition graphics card. This card is a custom version of the NVIDIA GTX 1080, featuring Zotac's advanced triple-fan cooler, which provides excellent cooling. The Zotac version comes factory overclocked and will be very stable thanks to its custom power phase system based on NVIDIA's design. Specifically, this system consists of sixteen phases for the processor and two phases for the GDDR5X memory.
The Zotac version obviously has the GP102 GPU, but in this case it will work at a base frequency of 1645MHz, while the frequency in Boost mode is 1759MHz. Memory bandwidth has also been improved, from 484GB / s of the original version to 492GB / s. They are maintained at 3584 CUDA Cores, 224 TMU and 88 ROPs. Consumption has also been modified, as is logical, becoming 320W, with respect to the 250W consumption of the original graphics card.
This German media has also put the card to the test, in addition to gutting it and removing the heatsink. Regarding temperatures, at 2GHz with overclocking and the heatsink customized by Zotac, we see that this graphics card in benchmark with games is stable at approximately 70ºC. The benchmarks in games have been The Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Hitman, Far Cry Primal, Dirt Rally, Anno 2205, The Division, Fallout 4, The Talos Principle and DOOM. The truth is that the performance of this graphics card is very good and it becomes an interesting option. Regarding the price, we do not have data, but it will surely be well above the € 829 of the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition.
